can you stop flip effect monsters with pulling if they flip it like old vindictive magician? i know it wont work if it is flip when you attack it but if they flip summon it on their turn?
I get the feeling this should be in the Rulings forum, but...
Pulling the Rug
Counter Trap
Negate the activation and effect of an Effect Monster whose effect activated when a monster was Normal Summoned (even itself), and destroy that Effect Monster.
to answer this its no you can only activate this card in response to a monster whose effect activates when it is normal summoned not flip summoned.
the real question is can you activate PTR in response to a gemini monster being gemini summoned. since a gemini summon is treated as a normal summon and you can still activate cards like torrential tribute and bottomless trap hole.
pulling the rug is for monster's whos effect activates when it hits the field, so if you second summon a gemini, it's effect activates when it hits the field, so unless the rulings come out stating otherwise *since you can't play rug on jinzo for w/e reason* i would think you could play PTR on gemini's

how did i contradict myself? and as fro jinzo, solemn is a trap card that negates, PTR is a trap card that negates when an effect activates when it hits the field. if your going to specifically make a post about something i said, elaborate.

One reason why you cannot activate Pulling the Rug on a Jinzo is that Jinzo's effect is a continuous effect, something that cannot be chained to.
The difference between Solemn Judgment and Pulling the Rug, besides the above stated, is that Solemn Judgment negates the summoning of the card whereas Pulling the Rug waits until something has already been summoned and also waits for an effect to activate upon summoning.
ITTD: Your post was wrong because of many reasons.
1) Jinzo's effect never activates, it just ...happens. It does not use the chain.
2) Jinzo doesn't activate when he is normal summoned. It doesn't activate. It just works when he is face-up.
3) Solemn/Forced Back/Horn Of Heaven/etc negates THE SUMMON of Jinzo, not the effect.
4) Pulling the Rug does NOT negate summons.
As for the Gemini question, I would say no.

You can negate the Summoning of an already face-up monster with "Solemn Judgment", etc. You may also chain cards like Torrential Tribute. However, you cannot negate the re-summon with cards like "Divine Wrath" .
The bold shows that the summon is only a summon, and that's it. It just gains the effect, by a game mechanic or something along those lines that work as a Continuous effect, by that, I mean that you can't chain to it, thus, you can't chain with Pulling the Rug.
well thanx for clearing up the whole jinzo thing, i knew it couldn't be negated with PTR i just never looked into why, as for the gemini thing, i was just guessing.
