I need help with the deck and would appreciate any tips or combos.
I would have to disagree with you. LaDD would completely negate the "tag-out" mechanic of the GBs. However, the suggestion not to add any more than two of any GB seems about right.
To the OP, if you feel that three of any GB is necessary, go right ahead. I would probably only do that with Laquari or Octavius (and just not pay his cost to send him back). I would use some other monsters from the set, or alter the ratios a little bit.
I have been fiddling with a proxy, and now an actual deck, for a couple of weeks. I'll post it up here as soon as I can make it a little better.
Edit: Whoops, forgot about combos! Try swarming ASAP with Secutor. It has been killer (literally) in my deck.
Whats ASAP?? Yeah, I wouldnt run more than 2 or anyone except Laquiri. The prob Ive found with Octavius is that you lose him to the deck. I need to think of some mechanic that actually makes his discard cost help.
Yeah, I started using secutor. He is really good with defense tactics.
ASAP means "as soon as possible." Try using Manticore of Darkness or searching the forums or the internet for cards whose effects activate when in the graveyard.
These include Treeborn Frog, Necro Gardna, and various others.

Just FYI the one that negates spells is disarm, parry negates traps.
Couple of issues I see with this deck,
- Spatacus
- 2 hoplumos (with shield crush at 3 and noble at 2 + your opponent won't be willing to attack them they are kind of dead right now)
- Breaker (no point, he slows down the GB's and Beastiary has the same effect)
- 2 Hammershots (Uh... most likely a dead draw when you have alexander or octavius on the field)
- 2 Dust Tornado (Won't help you all that much, chances are you'll set it when you need to activate it)
- 2 Gladius (You SHOULDN'T need the attack and shrink works better since it'll allow your weaker GBs to attack without dying)
- 1 Respite (It is an amazing card in theory, but when I was testing my GB deck I hardly ever had 2 GBs in my hand, much less 2GBs + Respite)
+ 1 Alexander (He's amazing, end of story)
+ 1 Octavious (2500 beater, yeah he returns but he's easy to get out and he'll destroy another card next time)
+ 2 Beastiary (This is like an upgraded Breaker or Dust since you can GB summon him with tiger to destroy one, then attack and GB summon octavious to destroy another one AND have a 2500 beater staring down at your opponent)
+ 2 Disarm/Parry (Run two of each)
+ 2 Waboku (yeah, not as good as defense tactics but amazing nonetheless)
+ 1 Murmillo (you said 6sam decks hurt because of zanchi, so attack the other one and use the GB summon on this to destroy zanchi)
+ 1 Smashing Ground (to replace hammershot)
+ 1 Fissure (read above)
+ 2 shrink (Lets pretty much any of your GB's win an attack against virtually anything)
Final Count
-11 Cards
+13 Cards
I replaced the Hoplomus and Spartacus because they aren't all that necessary, in all honestly I would probably replace one of the Laquari for another GB return or a Murmillo (I would go for mumillo since you don't get many GBs in the grave for return) but thats kind of a more personally taste then a necessary fix.
Ps. I just noticed you don't have call or premature in there, they're useful after your opponent just L. vortexed your field so maybe throw one of them in there instead of the 3 laquari.

MK King- Alot of useful info in your post. I disagree with the Sparticas/Hoplomus thing. Sparticus is a +1 and the card happens to be a powerful card in the deck, single handedly giving you GB effects.
-What do you think about test tiger at 2.
-I aggree with gladius and they will come out but 2 manica stay and 2 shrinks go in.
-Hammershot ensures a direct hit OR a battle phase with a weaker monster.
- I will add 1 octavius(I really hate that he goes back) and another alexander(wins games)
- I want to keep atleast one Dimicari because 4star and below GBs are essential for the deck
- 2 Murmillo is a good idea.
-2 parry/disarm good idea
-With 4 or more tribute GBs Respite is very good. I dont like sacking cyber for a big FB when he could go back into the deck to draw 3. It works well for me so I will keep it at 2 and probably add a GB return.
- Call and Premature are iffy. They open up battle phases but I really dotn think they are necceasary. However I will atleast run Premature.
- I will add a Bestiari.
By the way I play tested COLD WAVE last night. It is rediculous when comboed with Defense tactics or waboku or shrink for that matter.
I didnt get ANY colliseums. Have you play tested them. I might proxy today.
COMBO WAVER please tell me your tactic. I want to win with this deck.
42 cards. Not Ideal but proxy this. Its really complicated but very fun to play.
Help me make this deck better.
It's not a good idea to run 2 Alexanders with only a single dimacari, if anything happens to that single one then Alexander's are unusable until you draw into return.
So you'll want to add in at least one more dimacari.
I would suggest removing one of the 3 laquari's and instead of focusing on them causing damage focus more on alexander getting out and smashing across and then laughing at your opponent as they draw into Lightning vortex. (Having 1 Dimacari on the field + 1 Alexander is a good way of ensuring that you'll be able to keep an Alexander on the field for your opponents turn, it's the main goal I would try to accomplish.)
Something I forgot in my first post, My body as a shield would work AMAZINGLY well in this deck.
As for Laquiri, he is just to big not to run in 3s.
Sometimes GB respite really does suck.
I dont know where to stick my body as a shield in BUT i will try it if I can find room. Cold Wave is very good.
peace
I was thinking a little about this today and I came to thinking about when I was play testing my experimental deck, I ended up stuck against a marshmellon and a spirit reaper (wasn't running murmillo) and thinking back on in, Staunch Defender with an Octavius on the field would have created all sorts of shennanegans so when if I ever get around to building my GB deck I'll probably throw it in there.
*Disclaimer* I haven't tested Staunch defender yet, it was just a thought of the look on my opponents face when he realized he HAD to attack octavious with both spirit reaper and marshmellon. (In all honesty I probably would add it in the side deck against burn and their love for stall)
Staunch seems to situational and would prob require some back up.
I was playing this deck last night and I noticed that GBs rely heavily on the momentum created by their effects. Honestly this deck has the strangest search mechanic of any deck in yugioh. I can see now that it will be awhile before I find exactly what this deck needs. Does anyone play this in japan and if so how is it played??
