This is just a little fun that I want to have. I'm not a super huge fan of the Gadget deck since that I'm not very good at playing it. But I do want to try my hand one last time with it. Just a basic gadget deck.
The cards that I'm not sure about are Premature Burial and Call of the Haunted. I don't really know how needed that they are. I want to avoid the use of Overload Fusion and Future Fusion in here as well. Although I'm seening that is a harder task than I thought. I also want to avoid use of Snipe Hunter. I have horrible luck with Snipe so for the time being I want to try and not use him. I would be running Dimensional Prison in place of Widespread but I don't have any Prison at the moment. I doubt that I will try and get them too. I've never tested the deck with a second Pot of Avarice and would like to know if anyone thinks that using 2 is good or even needed. And I may want to run a second Lightning Vortex to take out swarming decks like Zombies and 6S.
If anyone has any comments on the deck I would be glad to here them. That means you Russ.
- 1 Widespread Ruin
- Hammer Shot
- Magician of Faith
+ 1 Shrink
+ 1 Cyber Phoenix
+ Snipe Hunter - I know you said you have "bad luck" with it, but this is a MUST HAVE in a gadget deck.

Here are the changes I would suggest:
- Hammer Shot
+ 2nd Lightning Vortex
- Call of the Haunted
+ Ceasefire
I have never run Hammer Shot in a Gadget deck before because it is possible that your monster will get destroyed. Smashing Ground and Fissure only destroy monsters on your opponent's side of the field. A second Lightning Vortex will indeed help you take out annoying swarm decks such as the ones you mentioned, Zombies and Six Samurai. Neither Call of the Haunted or Premature Burial is required in a Gadget deck, but I always use Premature Burial in case I need to bring back a monster such as Jinzo or Cyber Dragon from the graveyard. I have noticed that many losses by a Gadget deck occur when the opponent has about 1500 life points or less left. Ceasefire will help get the extra damage necessary to win those close duels.
In my Gadget deck, I use Overload Fusion because it gives me another way to win, especially in longer duels. For you, Snipe Hunter is a card that you should avoid using at all costs. Your luck with it is very bad, I have seen this for myself. I have found that using just one Pot of Avarice is enough. If you used two of them, there would be a better chance of you getting one in your opening hand, which is something that you don't really want. Hope I helped!
