Please tell me this ruling isn't true. This guy claims that when I use the card to search a monster while crush card virus is in effect, whatever the monster I fetch out will be destroyed. And here's another claim he made. During my turn, he activates it and the effect goes on till after my 3 draw phases. That can't be true right?

Both are incorrect. Any monster that you did not draw after CCV's initial activation (when he first flipped it up and it nukes your field and hand) will NOT be destroyed, no matter where you got it from and where you're putting it.
For example, Sangan, Mystic Tomato, Reinforcement of the Army, Premature Burial, Escape from the Different Dimension, etc., will not have their monsters destroyed by CCV's effect regardless of their ATK.
CCV does NOT go on for 3 Draw Phases... It lasts until your 3rd End Phase. So if he activates it in your turn, you only have two more turns after that before CCV's effect disappears.
Fooie!!!! I FRIGGIN KNEW IT!!!! I argued that same case, but that guy refused to listen to me!! He took me for a fool!!! >.< I knew all along but that guy still won't listen to me. He already proved that he lied and the first one is having 3 secret rares in light of destruction box. That's completely bull. He even disses my own mom. When I get my hands on him, I'd string his neck with his own tongue!!! He says that the judges confirmed this too. Yea right!! Like I ever believed his lies.

Crush Card Virus
Normal Trap

Tribute 1 DARK monster with 1000 or less ATK. Check all monsters on your opponent's side of the field, your opponent's hand, and all cards they draw (until the end of your opponent's 3rd turn after this card's activation), and destroy all monsters with 1500 or more ATK.
Crush card Virus doesn't affect the cards you add to your hand without drawing.
Crush card Virus doesn't affect monsters you add to your field through card effects.
Crush card Virus lasts until the end of your opponent's 3rd turn after activation of CCV if it's activated during his turn.

Your opponent was wrong on the first part, but right on the second part of the effect.
Shouldn't this belong in the Rulings Forum?
If you activate CCV during your opponent's turn, that counts as Turn 1. Their next turn will be Turn 2, and their final turn is Turn 3.

Yea, I did argue that statement but he's too stubborn to even listen to me. But it's just a friggin game I just let him believe what he wants to believe
Yeah, that's one of the few weaknesses the virus cards have; it destroys the monsters on the field and hand, but it won't stop them from using revival cards or search cards like ROTA to get them.
Thanks for the heads up for the CCV, now that I know that I will make sure that it is played right by my opponent, and myself.
Question. If I chain to that draw phase, standby phase, or etc I will still catch that first card though even if it is M,S, or T wont I? it just means that it would be dumb to chain it after the first action in the First Main Phase. Right?
Also in response to the thread, I think that is the way to make them fair, because otherwise a Crush means the other person is dead. So being able to search still keeps it from being OP.
However, if you do play a magic card that makes you DRAW, you lose the cards, because it says any cards you draw untill the end. So there are still ways to abuse it.

Really it is dependent on how you want to play it. Most people will play it as soon as they can that way they know everything their opponent has. Personally I usually wait till they do something, such as MST/Heavy Crush, or Nobleman/Sheild Crush the monster, or just wait till they summon that way they can't summon anything else that turn. Alternatively, if you are playing against a Warrior deck, waiting might also mean, they used Reinforcement of the Army, so they can't use it the next turn and get a monster that will stay around.
Crush is one of those cards that really needs to be played according to the situation. Trust me on this, I play Konami's Online game, and we have been playing with Crush card on there forever, it can be a real make or break card, depending on how you use it, and when.
