i think its even first of all i have been many adults in my life. Ive have also lost many times and some times win i lose i still have more points then they do. Don't go easy on a kid because hes a kid try to beat him fast and you will find its not so easy. WE may not have as much money as you do but we have more soul in the game and we play as good as we can. We are not stupid we are the next generation of mech players if it stays around. I think we are going to win many more tournment then you will ever think. So next time you play a game with a kid play your best or we will beat you if you do or dont bring your Agame.
I have nothing against Teenagers, or kids for that matter, but it seems you have some conflicting issues with adults?
Now I have played against kids younger than yourself, not only at table top games, but other competitive games, such as paintball and never have I shown disrespect for whatever the matter, certainly not because of their age. So, stop stereotyping yourself. it dose no one any good.
I'm 18 and my current venue is limited to a 8-10 year old and myself. the kid is the BM's son, and I always thrash him. I conceded the Nationals qualifier so I could play some old friends who managed to get a venue on sunday for their own Nationals event. From my experience, kids aren't much of a challenge.
Youth and skill are no match for old age and treachery. ;)
I would debate that you have more "soul in the game", but only because some of us old-timers have been playing in this particular sand box longer than you have been alive. Anyway, it is rather irrelevant who has more "soul" or who thinks they are smarter.
An opponent is an opponent to me regardless of age, sex, rank, or planet of origin. I don't stick people into categories and I try not to put anyone (myself included) on a pedestal. I play to win, but with an open heart to teach and an open ear to learn.
If someone is letting you win then they are doing you a disservice, but don't think that everyone that loses to you is letting you win. Also, don't let winning go to your head. . . it is a paltry thing next to spending time with those you like doing something that you enjoy.
Originally posted by BlackFusion I am technically a minor, but can still charged as an adult from criminal activity (17).
How much experience do you have in this area ;)?
Anyway, me and my brother and his friend are pretty good, (around 12-16 i think we are, i'm the 12 year old ;))... I haven't done the best lately but my brother wins quite often!
17 year old here and I'm considered one of the better players at my venue. On a good day, I'm unbeatable. Of course, most of the people around here are very skilled and on most days the game can go to anyone.
Woohoo! Kid power! (12 years old) Just kidding. But yes, I have whupped up on many adults and had fun. Of course, I have also gotten beaten many times. Age is not something that will affect your skill. Some people are just born with it. Others have alot of experience and have learned from their mistakes. Peace out.
im just agreeing with 14playsmech we kids don't have a solid supply of money but the amount of time and effort we put into the game is worth alot!!, you work, get a steady supply of money, alot of kids work for a few months and then school comes around, but we still manage to grab some very good pieces to use against you adults...
I have often played kids, and I do not let up on them, but I happily explain my tactics and why I am taking certain actions. The only thing I can suggest is to check your spelling and grammar, for you have "been many adults"...;-)
