I had my 1st game using my friends' pieces (while mine come) and i got some doubts. I hope someone can answer to me :)
1 - Does infantry or vehicles block the line of fire for an artillery attack?
2 - Salvaged vehicles/mechs counts toward VC1?
3 - I had a SS kage BA with cammo on hindering, B2B with his SH cavalier. Do they receive a +1 to defense due to hindering, even being melee? And the kage, does it receive the +2 from cammo even being melee with the cavalier?
4 - Can I make a charge or ram if i'm already in base contact with the target?
5 - If I use anti personnel with 2 targets on adjacent units, do they receive double damage (from the received shot and the "splash" one)?
1) Infantry and vehicle bases block line of sight for Artillery attacks. (Preventing the +4 for line of sight)
2) VC 1 is points eliminated (killed and salvaged i believe). VC2 is points remaining. If you get a salvaged unit Back into your deployment zone, you deny your opponents those points for VC1.
3) I believe the SEC (Special equipment card) only states that camo works vs ranged combat attack. Also, hindering also only gives a bonus vs ranged combat attack.
4) no. you can only start a ram/charge/DFA attack when you are NOT in base contact with an enemy unit.
5) Anti Personnel does not double up on splash damage. so if you have 3 units like so: ooo and target the end two units, the middle target still only takes the base damage. likewise, if you target two units side by side, again, they still only take base damage. Boils down to Anti personnel damage does not stack.
I really hope you enjoy the game. it has a lot of strong points, and the developers are working on fixing the weak points.
Have fun and always feel free to come here and ask questions.
1) exception to this rule is if the arty unit is a mech. Otherwise the above poster was correct.
2) VC1 is units destroyed. Salvaged units do not count toward VC1. They may count toward VC2 provided they are outside the controlling player's deployment zone.
For example if the artillery unit is on elevated terrain unit bases not on elevated terrain will not block the line of fire even if the artillery marker is placed directly under a non-elevated unit.
Simply draw the line of fire like you would do for a normal ranged combat attack. What would block the line of fire for a normal ranged combat attack will also block it for an artillery attack.
