I want to know what everybody is hoping for when it comes to what their factions get in future expansions. I have three rules though
1) no griping about not being included in the next expansion. We know already
2) no demanding mechanics that would force a rule change (faction abilities are allowed though)
3)NO FLAMING
now I will start
Spirit Cats: ohhh how I love my cats, but they need to stop with the 9 attacks on big mechs!, Little guys i can understand but this is getting ridiculous. the occasional 11 attack would be niice as well but no more then that
Republic: enough with the unique/LE regullar republic army!! I do not mind things like regimenttal commanders, but we do not need lances stuffed with these people. concentrate on using LE and uniques to filll out the knights please. and while we are at it i would like to give the knights faction abilities. at leats one.
Liao. After Falcoins prey i think this Faction should be put on hold indefinatly. I like Liao, mostl,y because they are the most stable faction around, but really wiht the story line shift towards the coreward part of the republic, they have little pertinance any more.
Steel Wolves: in my mind these guys should be getting more in terms of green infantry and vetran vehicles. a smattering of stable mechs for uniques as well would be nice.
BR: I am a closet Wylds Jokers fan. I want to see at least three lances of unique mechs for these people. I also want to put a few more viable combat vehicles in there, they have enough asrtillery and transports.
SH SSw: Let us determine who get s what paradigm. The SSw got the splodie mechs then they turned to short venting while the hammers got the sploders. now it seems tht the SSw will be spoldies again. WOULD SOMEBODY MAKE UP THEIR MINDS!!!
Mercs: I want to see where mercs can at least work together in thier own regiment it would give infantry aside from Zuchis, and grey death a purpose.
There is still this perception that Liao is still a minor threat to the republic; that they are a minor power only.
WRONG!
They are one of the five Great Houses in the Sphere. They managed to survive the Jihad on their own while other Great Houses were forced to work together to survive. They stockpiled forces. Just because the Falcons have arrived doesn't mean that Liao are going away!
For the Republic, I'd love to see some solid medium and Lights to bolster the Ghost, Uller and Cougar. Transport Choppers superior to the Lamprey. Faster infantry than 8 inch move!
DF and HL need medium mechs in the same vein as their two Heavy/Assault LEs, the Thor and WHM. Something that can dish 3 to 4 damage and with a chance of hitting... The DF need something other than Assaults or Lights!
SSw need more stuff like the U Blade and the Sun Cobra.
I am a die hard Davionist. I love the Federated Suns and thus the Swordsworn. But honestly I have to say that the Swordsworn have simply gotten too much loving since this game was released. Skip the Swordsworn for a set. Let the other factions catch up.
For Liao:
- An lite infantry, 10 inch move.
- A assault copter (I doubt we gonna get one ever)
- Spanky and Slappy little sister ;-)
For BR:
- A new repair vehicule is badly needed! The merc Salvage mech could do the trick but with his cost...
- A new medium tank, between 50 and 60 points
- moe infiltrating infantry ^..^ we never should have enough of them
- Some new infiltrating mechs (and no chargemonkeys like the Lego) more like Bart
I am a Kuritan zealot! I just love the Dragon's Fury and can't wait to see House Kurita join the game.
Taking into account the advancing timeline, and the myriad of rule changes that have occurred, here's what I would like to see for DF/HK:
1. PLEASE, rules team/arbitrators, stop neutering DF's strength! ... DF was designed from the beginning to be fast (high speed values and Infiltrate) and hit hard (high attack values and IT). The continued "dumbing down" of Infiltrate has greatly diminished one of DF's biggest advantages. Reverse the trend or redesign DF's strengths.
2. Continuing from #1 ... if it becomes necessary to redesign DF's factional strengths I would like to see improved range and defense values (including armor SE). Again, taking into account the advancing timeline, it would only make sense for DF forces to have captured/scavenged design plans/equipment/material from other factions and incorporated the swag into their own forces or military construction programs, as the case may be.
3. Depending on how heavy a Kuritan influence the design team has decided upon when designing DF:
- Heavy Influence: Few, if any, new Medium 'Mech designs. Focus will be mostly on Light and Heavy/Assault class 'Mechs.
- Light Influence: Whatever the design team wants, I guess. Still, I wouldn't mind seeing a No-Dachi and an Akuma (or some other traditionally Kuritan designs for that matter).
4. DF units I would like to see in the future (taking into account the advancing timeline, etc. that was mentioned above) :
- A new AA vehicle with range comparable to some of the newer AA vehicles.
- As mentioned before, some more traditional Kuritan designed 'Mechs (No-Dachi, Akuma, etc.).
- More DF 'Mechs with the Alpha Strike SE. Alpha Strike seems like it was designed with DF in mind ... all-out frontal attack where either I kill you or I die trying ... very DF/Kuritan.
- Not a necessity, but it would be nice to have an artillery unit that can hold its own with other faction's artillery units. DF is headed in the right direction with their Arrow IV units, but we're still a bit behind everyone else.
Other than the points mentioned in #4 I can't really think of much else right now that DF needs. The majority of our Infantry, Vehicles and VTOLs fall into the good-to-great range, and I have few complaints about the majority of our 'Mechs. Having said all that, I do think DF should be left out of a set some time in the near future, if for no other reason than to let the other factions "catch up".
Unless of course House Kurita is being introduced! ;)
For the Republic:
-More nons. And decent one please. It seems right now our only worthwhile mechs are the Knights and Regimental Commanders
-An AA vehical
-Some cheap filler infantry
-Fast harassing infantry
How about some field medics for the factions ? It is a little dense to have mash vechicles and not some ground pounders able to get into the hindering terrain and save your grunts with out worrying about AP rounds hitting your mash also wht don't they equipt the mash vechicle's with point defense to negate the Ap risk?
Mercs? Ability to form up with anyone, including other mercs. Now that would make them great! The inclusion of Lindon's Battalion (they are the only one of the classic rule book merc companies left out, ditch the ronin, and give Lindons their place), and the resurgance of the Grey Death Legion (if only to piss some people off).
Swordsworn - uh, mechs that don't suck would be nice, and a non le heavy tank that doesn't suck. I'd love to see a dual chevron marksman, with a 10 attack and it, or 11 attack solid, with 5 damage ap, and a 22 defense with decoy, or hardened. but the biggy is a 0-14" range. Plus decide on who the damage dealing faction is please. WTH is up with a Highlander mech with 5 damage and pulse for 0-14 inch range? Talk about making Diane Jameson overpriced, and totally useless. If the kilts can pull that, where is my 10 damage with pluse, icy heat dial and 0-20" swordie mech, sheesh, that's just not right.
Storm Hammers- just more of the same I guess, they're a pretty solid faction right now, just keep things going the way they are I guess (good arty, solid vtols, great infantry, good vehicles, solid mechs, solid support).
I agree with Wolverine. I am tired of seeing Dragon's Fury short changed. I especially would like to see new Kuritan 'Mechs. The No-Dachi primarily, followed by the Akuma, Kintaro and Raptor.
I also would like to see the rules change to allow merc units to participate in formations, as Maniac has suggested. It is ignorant to disallow you to use your mercs to their full potential within your battleforce.

You've got a point about the mercs stuff, Maniac. I agree with you about that, but your statements after that are completely nonsensical. You are asking for a tank that would be complete ubercheese (way too good) and then ranting about Highlanders getting a good piece? What's up with that. Us kilted fighting men have never gotten stellar attack pieces. All we've ever really asked for was a non w/ an av of 10 (apart from the salvagemech!). Now, we get one good piece and you are bitter about it. It will never happen again, so let us be happy with our one piece w/ good damage, attack, and range.
I would like the Highlanders to get a good assult tank. Im talking about 10 attack, with Improved targeting, with a 8 movement, 23 defence, AP....something nasty....make it an LE if u want, and hell, even give it a cap 0 (or cap 1 if u wanted to be cool) so it cant be tankdropped....that is what we really need...something to give a smackdown.
RotS i really wanna see the commander of the RAF....that would be cool....but i am really happy about the non-mechs thay are getting in FP...thats what they need...there only good non-mach is the Cugor, and thats not all that great. An AA gun would be nice also.
Now that my angry little outburst is over, I would like to see lots of things happen. I wish Dragon's Fury would get at least 2 true fatties (23+ w/ armor). So far we're at one with Erin Johnston. I would like to see the highlanders get a good tank and another 3 cap transport. I always liked the Diamond Sharks, so I hope the Sea Foxes are continued as a faction after Falcon's Prey. Lastly, I wish the Ghost Bears, or Rasalhague Dominion (whatever incarnation works for Wiztopps. After they changed Diamond Sharks back who knows what they'll do?) make it into the game.
I would like to see the Steel Wolves get a cheap command unit. As it is right now, all they have is Seka Ward and Kal Raddick. Neither is cheap or easy to get a hold of.
