I the new Game Trade magazine that came out yesterday there was a nice article from our very own Draddog (Kevin G) about FP. He explains the new rules and faction abilities and whatnot and also says that the appoximate odds of finding a gray-based "super rare chase Mech" is 1:12 boosters, although it also says there is no guarantee per case or anything just the average.
So maybe 3 or 4 per sealed case? We'll see, but it sounds cool to me. I thought it would be like one per case or something, but this is a lot better.
More importantly, it raises the chances of the typical booster of having something 'better' (and I always have to use that word in relation to comparing unique and LE 'mechs to their non-unique counterparts) than your typical non-unique. After you add up the uniques and the LEs potentially in each case, now you have a chance of 1 in every 4 boosters having one of them. It'll definitely increase the individual booster market, and sealed tournaments are sure to be a bit more exciting.
Okay I must not have been following FP as close as I have the past 5 sets. So if someone can clear this up for me I would appreciate it.
We are going to have a base set of FP from say piece 001-114 or whatever the last unique is correct? And those will all be black based as the past sets correct? Then we will have black based LEs from say 114-124 or what have you, and then grey based LEs from 124-134 or something of that nature?
I know I will be much more aware of this in the next 2-3 weeks and even more so when I get my cases but I would just like to understand this whole break down. I hate being gone for 6 months and comming back to all the changes.
There are NO BLACK BASED LEs in the count.:eek: All LEs in this set are grey based mechs and will be availbe in boosters. There is a gap between the LE mechs and set uniques, but Draddog said that space will not be filled.
@preia
That is about right, looks like you are paying enough attention. I am glad that the ratio is 1:12, I thought it was going to be like 1:48 or somthing like that.
Makes sense that they would increase the number of uniques/LEs in a case. A lot of people (me included) have stopped buying boosters. I would imagine that WK would increase the chances of getting LEs to entice people to buy more boosters.
Okay I see, so the entire LE issue is that they are now grey based and they are more or less upping peoples chances of getting them if they are not able to do so through tournaments. Not too shaby of an idea. Does a little bit of good for WK and players, maybe a little of bad for both as well, shall see.
Any speculation on why the heck there would be a numbering gap between base set and LE set going on out there yet?
Did they put up the numbering for the base set and LE set yet? IE base is 1-124 and LE is 134-154 or something like that for an idea of how big the whole thing is? Just curious.
Hrm, after thought. Like someone else has mentioned, wonder how much more difficult this will make getting a full base set if slots are used with LEs. Can win LEs..... have to trade for commons. Could be interesting haveing to trade LEs off to get uniques and commons instead of vice versa laugh.
