set up the board on a 1 inch hex map.
when you place an arty pog you don't drop it, its concidered in the center of a hex which your opponent does not know which one. You write down the hex number on a pad of paper. The burst is concidered the hex for a 1 inch burst, the hex plus all agacent hexes for 2 inch burst
3 inch burst is .. you get the idea.
When the pog resolves you measure to the center of the hex to see if its in range. If you get greedy and its out of arc/range its concidered an automatic miss.
BEFORE you scream at me and say this would make arty even more powerful. These are for fun, arrange the scenario before hand and agreed to go easy on the arty.
Yeah, it means that people cant just move out of the way of the shell or missile. More realistic in my opinion. Great job, although now we need to set up hexes on our boards for friendly games. That requires work in the real world. I play this game to hide from those things... What a dillemma!
I just had another 8 maps printed up with 3 inch grids with minor ticks every inch. Great for Solaris and everything else. Even infiltration is quicker plus you don't have constant measuring to everything. You can easily see if something is outside range, close enough to range to warrant a measurement or inside range. Plus you have a good reference for when you need to pick up a figure.
I like that arty idea, Do you still use the original 1 order for the arty attack (without the loss of an order on the next turn)?
