i see lots of ConArtists in games as a cheap Perplex, and 2 in a 400 point team seems common.
im just wondering how is it tactically better than Mystique?
to even get ConArtists Perplex in play you have to push her...so that means 2nd turn at the earliest...if you have 2 of them that means 1/2 you actions for the first 2 turns (not taking Team Abilities, Leadership ect in to account).
then beyond Perplex shes is basically useless...not going to really do any damage...can be killed in one hit by a myrid of characters under 40 points
on the otherside Mystique has Perplex right off the bat, 2 clicks even, plus Stealth and ranged attacks, much higher stats and actual offensive ability
sure you can get 3 R ConArtists for a single R Mystique...but it will be well into the 3rd or 4th turn before they are actually all availible to use which gives you opponents lots of maneouver time and other actions...heck he may have even been able to pop one or more of them off by then
so why? just doesn't seem tactically smart to me

Well if you have a PWer then you can set up so youll PW the Con Artists to there Perplex click. I like to use R Blizzard for this because he has a decent attack and can easily hit em.

Set up your con artists in front of a Pulsewaver.
1st action
Pulsewave. BOOM. Now the h00k3rs have perplex. Then have a person with hi AV with long range. I've tried Phoenix. It's worked out Ok.
There you go. Try that, if you fon't have a Phoe, use any other fig with higher range, prob 10 with multiple bolts, hi AV, and multiple bolts. Thanos, Blizzard with h00k3rs would rock.

Anyway, I personally love Mystique and play her quite often if I'm not running a sentinel. I also snag Gambit often as a nice Perplexer with other abilities and which can fend for itself.

I go for mystique, more versatility, longer lifespan. Con artists are easy to energy explode en masse. Or just shoot if alone, mystique's got more staying power and has range with solid stats. Heck, If you've got one, Run a Raven Darkholme even.

The hooker bomb is a bit played out. It can give you a serious edge but its... really only fun if you use it to turn Black Manta into the Aztec warrior he dreams of becoming.
Another thing, you waste a lot of points on some fragile figures, and probably have maybe one big hitter to turn into a demi god. All it takes is a little Outwit and some good dice rolls and that main attacker is gone. Split shot EE attacks can cook a hooker faster then Emeril.
I think the Exp Mystique is where its at for the points. Starting attack value of 9 means she can use that Perplex to up her damage or range when somebody else doesn't need it.
You're going to see a lot more of Kraven now though. He might cost a bit more but his versatility goes above and beyond Panther. There's also the LE Whitney Frost. Any figure that wants to get close to her better pray she's not by somebody she can mastermind damage onto, or they're taking poison damage on your turn.
Panther does get old, and I use him a fair bit, but I've been looking for alternatives..
Cheap outwit's harder in marvel then DC. I love me some Intergang! But You've got a few options. Gammabomb made a great call with Whitney Frost, 1 more point than V Madame Mask(Sp?) and infinetly more useful. Pair her with cap, and he can be masterminded into outwit quickly and effeciently.
Cap alone is good just for late game outwit, run him around pushing him away from the battle and towards the support figs until it pops on his dial.
Generally, If I'm looking for fun outwit though, It's Reed Richards. You get to choose when he gets it thanks to plasticity and toughness for 48 points, figure out who's going to punch him directly into outwit, and make them. Outwit their defense power, and let the rest of the team mop up(especially if paired with his wife).

i like to use the e black panther instead of the r, those BCF can save you a lot, lately a i've had to face my friends turning up on the king of wakanda too much!
as for the perplex, i like mystique waaaay better, i don't like playing with generics, the only generic i use is the v SHIELD Sniper and the e Paramedic (i'm poor thats why i use that sniper!)
DTM: A Mother has 2 children. She gives one child some ice cream, and the other None. The child without any ice cream gets upset and starts to complain. The child with the ice cream starts calling him a baby and tells him to Shut Up!. Interesting
If I have several targets on my team that I can Perplex, I'll use Mystique, for her staying power. If I only have a few targets (due to RCE, etc), then I'll use a Rookie Con Artist, since I don't care if she gets killed.
