OK, not to beat a dead horse, but I loved the idea of a special LE MWRealms inf. pack or mech. Those ideas are dead, but what about a LE nonunq inf BASE? Like a special repaint of Kanazuchi w/ different stats & an AOD or FP set symbol?
$5 for one, or 5/$20, shipped.
Who would be up for that? Or is it a stupid idea? The reason why I think it's different enough is that it'd be much cheaper to produce and ship a single fig than a 4 fig set w/ dossier or a mech. I got the idea when I got my MK Sorcery LE Demosthenes. Very tiny package.

I like the idea personally. How fun would it be to have a limited edition Pesant Infantry base called "Conscripted Realmers" :)

I'd wager that if MWRealms does do something, it'll be more like the pack of Relic cards they did for MKRealms. Which would also be cool.

The previous thread showed alot of support for any kind of MWRealms LE infantry. I think its a good idea. A whole lot is happening right now, though. Maybe the atmosphere is too busy for an LE at the moment. Maybe post-AOD we can get a MWRealms LE customizable mech! Good luck!

Yeah, anything Realms would be great but as I infer they kinda took a bath even on the relic cards... hopefully they come up with something. Also, in the spirit of full disclosure, the Kanazuchi is my fav inf. sculpt...

I'm aware of Draddog's responses on the previously proposed infantry PACK. That's why I started this thread with a similar but different idea of an infantry BASE, which would have a whole different cost & price point dynamic.
I agree that it will probably never happen. But I wanted to gauge if anyone would pay for a SINGLE BASE.

I am looking at if a production run of 10,000 or more is required and the packs were to be four units....How would individual sales alter the dynamic if you cannot sell the minimum amount. What Draddog is basically saying he does not have the funds available to buy the entire run of figures and then sell them to us. He also has a full time job at Wizkids and his spare time is used to run this site.
The huge problem is the start up costs and if you think this would sell well, maybe if you provide the capitial he would consider this proposal. In my business, Golf Courses, the return on investment is above average, but the start up costs of buying 300 acres of land, construction, and wait time of opening is several million dollars at a minimum. Anyone can do this, but the catch is you need the several million dollars first.

I think you might be comparing apples to oranges to... golf courses. If the production run for a PACK is 10,000, I don't think it's a given that the production run for a single base is therefore 4x that. Packs involve LE box, plastic insert, dossier, & 4 sculpts/dials as opposed to a single fig. On the old thread people were talking about making the product BIGGER (a booster, a mech, etc) and charging more, but my thought was to make the product SMALLER and charge LESS, but perhaps making the product more profitable (through volume and cost/price ratio). So I just wanted to see if people would go for that - paying $5 for an LE NON. The added twist is that, being an LE non, you could buy/use more than one. People could concievably buy a formation's worth, since you could use more than one in a force.
You don't need to convince me that it probably won't happen - I was more interested in feedback on whether or not the specific variations I suggested make it more or less appealing to (granted, theoretical) purchasers.

I would buy whatever it is. Infantry, vehcile, cards for the next set, or mech. Doesnt matter to me in the slightest.

Bring back the LE infantry and vehicles. The heck with making them cards. I know that it save WK money but we all love it. I bet they save so much money that... hey we quit playing because we get sick of their "lets save money" ideas!

Yeah, for the sendaway stuff, I always thought $5 was too cheap. I would've easily paid $10 for the LE and pin.

Sorry Eyetooth nothing personal but, LE means Limited edition and non means non-unique? The two words simply don't fit. Perhaps "special edition" is more proper?

And yes, I would buy that "MWRealms Special Edition" infantry. if its as good as the FP HL Sniper or better but cost under 25 points, maybe I'd get even 12. It has to be merc though to have a wider patronage. 16" with 3 AP would rock. What do we call this inf unit? Ghosts?

@ Storm... I know that LEs have been, up to this point, just rarer uniques. My whole point was to develop a special category of figure that was limited (in terms of production & availability) but not unique (so that you could buy & use multiple figs). "Special Edition" sounds great to me, as long as it's understood in the same way.
