Okay, I knew my Highlanders were'nt gettin' any love this set, which was cool cause I'm big into the Republic and Jade Falcons as well.
Now I'm hearing from people who are alot more "in the know" than I am that since the whole Fortress Republic thing went down, the HL are being "absorbed" into the ROTS?!

All the maps I've got show Northwind in Pref. III, sooooo is the "fortress" extended around Northwind or did they get cut off like everybody else?

Is it possible that since Tara's ancestral castle is a pile of rubble now, she relocated everybody and their families to Pref. X? (pretty big haul, though, and should'nt we have heard something about it?)

I guess my real question is are we gonna see any new HL units, or can we look forward to Republic mechs with Highlander defenses?

The chance of seeing new Highlanders units in a future set is as big as seeing new Swordsworn-, Spirit Cats-, Steel Wolves-, Stormhammers- or Dragon's Fury-units in a new set.

Talking about Republic 'Mechs with 'Highlanders' defenses... have you ever encountered the KotS Malice with its right pilot? I've got that 'Mech and the corresponding pilot. When you combine them with each other, you get a 'Mech with 24 defense.

OR the new Atlas... With it's 25 defence with pilot.

Firepower was pretty much the last hurrah for most of the orignal factions. The hurrah for the Highlanders being 3 mediocre units.

Mind you, that Highlanders Goshawk doesn't have any colors on its heat dial besides the green of the starting click. It's a pretty cool 'Mech (pun intended).

Well, now that answers the question of HL in the game...any thoughts on the fiction? Are they locked out or did they move?

Seems only right that the ROTS would take care of Tara and her people since she's been their biggest supporter over the last few years (and saved their derrieres not once, but twice!)

In the book "Fortress Republic" it says that the borders of Prefecture X were expanded to include a few more key worlds. Northwind was among those included.

The Atlas only has a 24 defense. Where is everyone getting 25 from?

As for the Highlanders in the fiction Prefecture X was indeed extended to include other planets previously outside, one of those was Northwind. Also Tara Campbell is still going strong and factors into Exarch Levin's plans quite heavily. She was very instrumental in stopping the Senator Rebellion on Terra. Levin has been using her as his media darling to gain support for the Republic because of her huge popularity in the Republic. He even offered the position of Paladin to her skipping the entire Knight stage but she declined.

When Levin's card was posted on this site, it was posted incorredtly and had +1 speed, +1 attack, +2 defense.

Oh, well that explains it but like I said it isn't 25 so please stop saying it is. If you don't believe me look it up on both Realms and WKs. He is a +2/+1/+1. Thanks for clearing that up for me TenExs.

I still remember that Vasilev had a +2 for defense. He also was incorrectly posted as having a +2 for defense instead of the +1 that he really has on the card. No matter how hard I try, my first impulse is to say that there is an Assault pilot with +2 to defense. First impressions are so hard to forget.

Well, she did... but Fortress Republic implies she's on the outside of the Fortress. It's not entirely clear what her role is.
