I was surprised I didn't see this up anywhere as venues are receiving these mech packs.
Here are some stats. Don't really know how to format this so I'm gonna hip shoot.
"Headmaster" Atlas -- 269 points
Starting stats --
5 damage at 0-14" range ballistic with 2 targets
3 damage at 0-10" range energy with 1 target -- Pulse special equipment
6 movement
10 attack value
22 defense with hardened armor
Heat Dial -- 2 clicks of clear with "0's", 3rd click has all "0's" but the ballistic is black so weapon is jammed or offline, 4th click "0, -1, -1" with a minor ballistic ammo explosion and a minor shutdown
Mechwarrior -- Sgt. Stan Severo -- "+2, +2, 0" -- after a missed attack against you, make a return attack, if you hit, do 1 ballistic damage
------------------------------------------------
"Echo 01" Marauder IIC -- 269 points
5 damage at 0-14" range energy with 2 targets -- PPC Capacitor special equipment
5 damage at 0-10" range ballistic with 1 target
6 movement -- Jump Jets special equipment
10 attack value
22 defense with heavy armor
Heat Dial -- 2 clear clicks "0's", 3rd click "-1, 0, 0" with minor heatsink overload and minor shutdown, 4th click "-1's" and red, yellow, yellow
Mechwarrior -- Bruce Theron -- "+2, +2, 0" -- when damaged (nonpushing) roll a die, on a 5 or 6, reduce the damage dealt by half
Paint jobs are excellent, especially the camoflage Atlas.
One note -- there are 10 of each figure, 20 maps and 10 dice packs, not 12, 24, 12... Box was fully packed at my first numbers, even if the insert says the second.
I didn't feel like going all the way through the dials (16 clicks for each)...
The Marauder has a little better staying power than the Atlas to make up for the heat dial. 8 clicks of 21 or better defense then 4 clicks at 20, the 1 19, 1 18, hits seventeen at salvage.
The Atlas falls a little faster but 2 clicks of hardened and 4 clicks of heavy armor help make up for the faster stat drop off.
5 dmg ppc cap aint bad either thats an 8 damage output right, and no ammo explosions, i hope to expect the package this or next week at our venue aswell. (just called in to check)
Cool Thanks. Looks like the Atlas is the better unit, better armor and a better heat dial.
Actually, I'd say they seem pretty close to equal.
The Atlas sounds like a much more defensive unit, while the Marauder IIC trades in some armor for some extra punch and mobility.
Even the pilots are near equal as far as Special Abilities is concerned, Bruce Theron has a better ablility, but it only works 1/3 of the time, where Sgt. Stan Severo has to make a hit roll... Pretty easy with a 12 attack to start!
Can't wait to see these mech "in the flesh".
Curious to know if the pilots are Gunslingers, and if so, what are the recruit costs?
Yes both are GS with a recruitment like WS units i guess, atleast at comravens board i read the costs somewhere but i forgot.
both need a 10 to hit (11 when assaulting) so should be pretty even chances. just that the atlas can take a few more hits, and that the marauder has more damage potential primary and secondary.
do like them though personally id go for the marauder. hope we get them soon aswell.
A light 'Mech with repair can be very useful with such a repairable assault 'Mech, indeed. However, if you don't have that gear card, a Bishop repair vehicle or Combat Technicians are reasonable alternatives.
