Now keep in mind that I'm new and don't know much, but I just got my first pack from Vangaurd and got a NC Thor. Am I allowed to put Reflective Armor on it even though the Thor already has Reflective Armor.:ermm:
You can but the effect isn't doubled, so essentially you have wasted the points until the Thor loses reflective armor. The only way you can have more than one SE active on a slot is if the CEC says that it can be used with other equipment of that type. For example the decoy card says that it can be used with other defensive special equipment so you could have a mech with decoy and reflective armor.
1. Non-optional on the dial: Dial applies until Dial SE is lost.
2. Optional or no SE on the dial and Non-optional Gear: Gear applies.
3. Optional or no SE on the dial and Optional gear: If optional SE on dial then that applies unless turned off (at which point it will be off for the balance of the turn), if turned off then Gear applies unless that, too, is turned off...
You're better off with something you don't already have on your dial. Improved Targeting or Pulse would be better utilized in this one. I like it's 16" energy range, letting you tap and heat up a mech before it can get close to strike back. If you place it just right, you can keep out of it's primary range and necessitate an assault order, heating your opponent further.
