I am looking for clarification on some rules that I either am not looking in the right place for or just plain cant find. I also dont have my ROW with me right now so I hope that I am not asking a question thats easily found in there. I have yet to play at a venue or even against anyone but my little brother who I taught the rules too so I want make sure that I have a good handle on them, especially since I will be playing at my local venue within the next week or so. Here they are:
I know that if you have an order token on a mech and give it another order than you gain 2 heat, now if you have 2 order tokens on a mech do you gain 3 heat or just the 2? Kind of the same question but if you have a vehicle or infantry unit would you take an extra pushing damage if you had a second order token on you already?
I know it says that units moving in a formation dont take pushing damage when a second order token is given but what if they had an order token on them from a move order the turn before and then pushed and formation fired the next turn, would the get the pushing damage for that?
Do you ever put more than 2 order tokens on a unit?
If you have a formation and the primary attacker has a SE thats all that matters right? All of the units dont have to have it do they?
I really appreciate any helpful response to these questions and do apologize if theres somewhere that the answers were easily found at that I didnt see.
When you give a 'mech an order, if it didn't already have a token on it, you just put a token on and nothing happens. (unless of course you run or do an assault order) If you give an order to a 'mech that already has a token, it takes one heat and keeps its one order token. The acception to this is the vent order, which won't cause heat gain if you push to vent. The only time that you ever have two order tokens on a 'mech is when its shutdown, and it is impossible to have more than two order tokens on any unit.
As for the formations, if you give the formation any type of order (combat or movement), then give the formation a move order, the formation will not take pushing damage. If you give the formation any type of order (combat or movement), then give the formation any order that is not a move order, they will take pushing damage.
Now the thing with the SE's is a little hard to understand. If a unit in a formation has an SE, it's not transferred to other units. Also the ROW states that in a combat formation, ONLY the primary attacker may use SE's. This means that a formation of units with streak missles won't all have a clear line of fire to an enemy on the other side of blocking terrain. But in a movement formation, if ALL members have jumpjets, the whole formation could move over terrain.
You might want to wait a little while longer to get clarifications on all the rules. (no offense intended)

ANSWER: If a mech has an order token and is given a move or shoot action it only gains 1 heat. If it is given an assault order it would gain 2 heat. You never put more than one order token on a mech unless it is shutdown, then you put two on it. You cannot put more than two order tokens on any piece, hence you cannot push more than once.
