Here is an army that I am thinking of using in a serious tournament:
F1:
* Gobbo X3
Podo
Loners:
Maelstrom Golem
Dwarven Hammerskald
I dont think that this army has man weaknesses. Against swarm, the two UNiques sweep big time, against Range, I have a living wall, against MB, Hammerskald is there with the goblins. I may be using this at the Canadian Nationals. Ram might be a problem but many people disliker using ram in 200 point armies. Please tell me if I should use this army or any modifications to it. Also Rate it in its original state.
Well, the Wind Minion is a great harraser. It can take out miltiple people, and you would have some decent range on your side. Not to mention it has LI.
The Wind Minion and Hammerskald are both good uniques, and they are inexpensive.
Those nons you chose arent that great though. If you have any Dwarven Axe-Knights, I would put those in instead of the hammerskald. And It would come in handy to have something with Levitation to throw out the Wind Minion.
I think that a couple of *Woodland Snipers might come in handy.
They are very inexpensive, and they are pretty good. And if not that, try some Impaling Golems.
Yeah, windy's a good replacement. Also, don't let any of us deter you from your ideas. 42up dislikes large unigues and overuse of them, I love large uniques. Any opinion found on here will be slightly bent to one person's point of veiw. Take suggestions to heart, but don't live on them.
I playtested this army today. It had the Maelstrom instead of the Windy. Its was 3 players with a Magus Death Star and another with a Heiro and 2 Immortal Fanatics. It came close (I HATE DODGE!), but I ended up winning. I think I will change to the Windy though because the Maelstrom's stats go down to quickly.
I could take out Podo and two GOblins for a * Shade but I dont know if I should as that would remove some of my blockers.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but doesn't the hammerskald cost 97 points? How is that inexpensive?
Specter 2001, I don't think this army would stand a chance in nationals.
2 Figures, both sub par warriors compared to other uniques out there, would get eaten alive.
Range would destroy you. Ram would also destroy you. The maelstorm golem is a nice figure to have, but a steady stream of skeletons would pick him appart. his stats drop off too quick.
Yes, he is good for slapping multiple figures for 4 damage each, but against one 10 point skeleton at a time? You would end up pushing to avoid getting attacked with weapon mastery. Finally when you did push, I sense two skeletons or a detonating zombie would base the thing, and decimate it on your off turn.
The wind minion is an ok figure, simply because if something with venom or ram chased it down (easy to do with it's 10 inch range), it has a hard time defending its self. Once it takes some damage, it becomes pretty weak.
I would advise against playing any of those three uniques, simply because even with a swarm army, you are fighting uphill. You have two attackers, they have 10 or so. Smart swarm players wont base you with their whole army at the same time anyways.
Now, I guarantee you will see some scorpem gunners at nationals.... so your living wall won't be too effective. It would be easy to target one of the * gobbos for 3 damage, and punch a hole in your wall - making you eat up actions to reform the group.
Shadow-I'm sorry. I forgot that Hammerskald cost that much. But dont ruin this guys army. Let him try out this army if he wants. Lots of people say that a certain army will NOT work, but a few times that army will end up taking the win and also the trophy.
But I have to agree with you on a couple of points you mentioned. Heck, if I had any of those 3 uniques I might want to try them out just for fun even if I did lose. There is one unique I really want to try though, the Wind Minion. If you keep it away from Ram and Venom, you will stand a chance. Just counter with your own Ram and Venom if you have it.
