i just pulled a thunder golem today and I have a stormie also.
I just cant find any benefits by using the thunder which i cant get with thw storm golem. i think the thunder looks alot better and i defenatly want to use it soon for a 400pt game agenst my frend.

so please get back 2 me on this any1

this needs to go into the battle formations rate:and review froum, you will learn werethings go, they will help you out more there, and I would suggest thye stormie over the thunder

Heres a tunder golem army i posted a couple days ago. Its not 400pts but it should give you enough ideas to work with.

The Thunder Golem is better because it has an additional 2" range over the Storm Golem.

Er... No it does not.

Both the Thunder Golem and the Storm Golem have 14" range.

Thunder Golem
Pros:
Pierce
Lower Cost
Durability (hit him for 4 damage and he still has 11 attack, 4 damage and pierce)

Cons:
90º Arc
6" Movement

Storm Golem
Pros:
3 Targets
Command
8" Movement
180º Arc

Cons:
Higher cost
Lower durability

My first look at the Thunder Golem gave me the same reaction- why not just spend another 21 points to get higher movement, 3 targets, higher attack and command? But a second look at the Thunder Golem revealed that it is one of the most durable uniques in the game, and its Pierce gives it a real edge when going toe-to-toe with other high-cost figures. Just be aware that enemies will have an easy dodging your 90º arc, and it will take some fancy manuevering to get the targets you want.
