Well as it says, I gave a GA army a shot this weekend after reading about it and becoming curious as to how it played out. Took it to a 300 pt constructed event with 9 players.
My Army:
Wind Minion
Striker
Wyvern
centaur champion
Shallow water
Now, I went 3-0 BUT not so sure if I played it right or how best to handle some of the matchups i faced...so if you care to help read on.......
Battle 1
Opponent: Heiro, wearbears, 2 shamen, faith healer
Events: Made stupid move and allowed him to push his Heiro to pop the striker (which should have been obvious since the Faith H was right behind it..no real fears of quickly dying) Retreated the striker popped the heiro with the minion for 3 the next round. Battered the hell out of the bears had two on the last click BOTH broke and got healed. Time was called. I win 300 to 298 on a no kill match.
Battle 2:
Opponent: Doomathick, corrupted priest, centaur medic, imp, graverobber, heirophant.
Events: Danced with the heiro kept forcing imp to run, doomathick ran into tie up the wind minion and got samcked for 3 then charged for 4 then based by a wyvern, failed break next turn while pushing and died from venom. Looking good so far. Still no way to hit the #### heiro! Dance dance dance....He necros Doomathick and flies to Priest, windy smacks priest for 3..no healing. Windy kills Doom again while the others tanghle unsuccessfully with Heiro killing imp 2x in the process. Striker hurt by a heiro once again.
Battle 3:
Opponent: Techun, nightmare reaper, war hacket, technos, robbers, healersx2, skeleton. (stick and lev soup action)
Events: same deal..he manuvers his figs so that the striker is indanger from some fig..lev guys, techun, nightmare reaper at all times. Killed a leved in skele 2x and danced the entire time only making a few attacks on his figs. Lev rammed my windy 2x which kept him out of the front action.
Now every one was at worst an average player and I would saw they were pretty decent..not many mistakes (this is the place where #1 ranked Dromar plays so I guess he beats on these guys/kids and they have learned a little from it. They complimented me but I left feeling like I was lucky as hell getting 3 wins???
From my brief descriptions..did I play the army correctly...what are the general ideas that I did not execute?

when going up against the Hiero's you could have put the Striker in range (best if the Hiero already has a token) of his healers
and then move the Minion in front of the Striker to block LOS to the Hiero.
You played 3 Range vs Range games
that's where the Wind Minion becomes important.
Use him to threaten and do the first damage
and back him up with the Striker.
The thing that kept bothering me was that even if the minion hit the heiro rolling a nine the healer right behind him couiild just heal him up, the herio takes a lot to bring dwon and leaves plenty of time for the healer to do its work. I guess another problem is my opponents all played conservative and held alot of the figs back....

Is it feasable to push the striker into bound when going againts long range figs to help get at the support?
I would not push into bound unless I truely needed it and felt I could get away with it. Once in the bound slot you are taking a veyr good size risk. The problem i hav ehad with GA from the get go is you need to be able to finish off a fig. In this case a very large fig. The windy would work good to block LOS but in most match ups I would prefer to run Techun and the Striker. A healer is what gives GA fits and combine that with a large beatstick and it makes for a tough match. It takes awhile to get use ot the ply style.
