I have been playing mage knight for a few months and have been buying as many as i can, but i dont have the art of army creation down yet maybe some help?
Alright MK Man, here's a 200pter I threw together. It's not the most amazing army I have ever seen, but if your figures were my collection, I would start here.
Loners
* Shade
** Ki Devil
* Sislith Tracker on Sislith
* Unicorn Bladesman on Unicorn
Throw up some blocking. Use the shade to get the Crystal Bladesmen into base contact. Push to WM, formation or not, and heal up with the priestess. The KI Devil is nice for recon work into enemy territory alone - he's better than the red in my opinion. Use the mounted figures liberally, and rush over for healing when needed. Let me see what I can do in the 300pt range for you next.

P.S. The single most important thing I tell new players is this: keep your army together. There is strength in numbers - don't send half one way, half the other. Stay together. If you send the Ki Devil out on it's own, be careful. Everyone else should be close enough together to help each other. If you remember this one thing you will beat a lot of other new players, and some more experienced. Oh, and if your opponent isn't doing this, take advantage of it and kill the strays.
Thanks!!! ill try this out when i get a chance and at the local hobby shop they play 300 so i hope you or someone else could take a shot at it thanks again:) :) [ag] [ag]
Kindakous, You and I are meeting up a lot today! I like your army. I thought about doing something with the standard bearer, too. The problem is, the Immortal Fanatic, weak, is pretty bad. If it was blue, I'd say go for it. Otherwise, how about this?
Drop the immortal fanatic. And the shade. Add in the ** temple blademaster (nasty dude), and the *** goblin volunteer.
Rush in to base with the new SB crew, and then bring in the crystal blades? I dunno, for both armies, I like having a healer, and this one doesn't, but I could see it doing quite well.
Start doing hit and run missions with the Sislith trackers - do damage - push - breakaway and get healed etc...
Set up 15 inches away from the target with trackers. (Since they can bound 5 and then shoot 10 inches.) You usually want to pound the same target with both trackers in one turn so it's weaker and has a harder chance retaliating. Make sure to attack with the red one first since it's attack is higher (Sorry if you know all this basic stuff, but I don't know how new to the game you are)
Keep the Unicorn Bladesman with the Crystal bladesmen.
They can move 7 together, so it's not that bad. You'd probably want to keep the crystal bladesmen in front of the unicorn bladesman so it can be safe from shots and be free to charge when ready.
Got all that? :) Hope I helped man, and good luck with the army if you want to try it out. If you need strategy tips feel free to pm me and ask.
Well a new guy not afraid to ask for help. Just to help you with the armies tactics...
The Standard Bearer's FM gives the KI formation a speed of 12. Basically, you can base a warrior (or formation of) who has a range of 12 in. That is because a LOS is drawn to the target's CENTER DOT, not the edge of his base (that adds like a inch and a half). To move b2b, you only have to move to your enemies edge of base to be considered b2b and therefore can make a close combat attack. For you particular army, I'd recommend you use the KI formation against your opponents main formation. Then you can bring your bladesmen to bear on either that formation (to add extra attack power) or send them against his support figs.
I hope this helps. GOOD LUCK and welcome to MK.:)
PS
Please excuse any mistakes I made in the swarm tactics. I don't ruetinely play a swarm army.
Formation or Loner Group:
* Sislith Tracker
*** Sislith Tracker (What's the range on this guy?)
*** Mending Priestess
With this formation, move up outside opponents range. Bound in for the first shot, but don't have them touching each other. After that, leave them there and heal with the Priestess periodically.
we did a 300 point battle between 11 people i got second place using shadow deaths army with the other 100 points filled by** ki devil *** mending priestes
*shade skele archer goblin volenteer *** and khamish fuser *
while i was there i got ashell the driver le standard bearer one red shield wall knight one yellow shield wall knight and two * noble archers
next time i want to use the extra points better do you have any advice on changes to make to make it better against ranged attacks because thats all anyone uses at the venue i go to thanks for the help and if possible try to include some of the knight:D :D
