Once again there is some one with 5 billion "hard to find" promos selling on ebay. Pretty much one of every promo except for Anunub. Sealed dungeons (rayden/thorn) pack, mech warrior Le's, rebellion Le's and sets of all the rest.
Makes you wonder how they get them all in such large numbers and where do you sign up for it.
Yep bshugg this looks like another one of the "employees" of either Wizkids or ral partha indulging in LE's. I'm sure they went to so many major cons that they were able to win them all. If you notice they are located in cincinnati, home to the LE distribution Center. I have zero respect for wizkids if they don't go after this person. As a player and collector, figures that limited should be won, not given to/stolen by/indefinately borrowed by some lame employee.
Yeah this still irks me, these are supposed to be super rare LE's and only winnable at big tournies but a lot more have been given away then players will ever win.
The Rabbidgerbal would like to see more distribution
For those who can't/ won't play at tourneys there should be a box top program to send away for uniques. they could have some kind of green stamp catalog... so many proofs of purchuse for a unique figure.
This would aid players who:
1) really rot at playing or have no luck
2) unable to play local games or there is no games to go to
those merconary priviteers on E-bay, what can you say? they are at least giving the public access to figs... but at a price.
I have always thought of the super rare LE's as like the oscars or nobel prizes of mk. And if they are given out to everyone, or even made available to sell, then what's the point. All the people that spend time and money becoming good at the game get the same prizes that some rich guy can by.
From the way WK has handled things like this in the past they will shut it down if the person is not supposed to sell them. If legit it will stay up. WK watches theses things.
From what I understand, WK give full LE sets to most of their employees (I guess it's cheaper than stock options :p). I don't think they're under any non-selling agreement either. A few more or less LEs won't flood the market or anything. Even if all their employees sold their figs, it would be a small percentage of the global quantities. Maybe this guy is probably an ex-WK employee (has happened before), or maybe he's short on cash.
And to tell you the truth, if I had a full set of Sinister LEs now, I'd sell it too. I mean, I could probably get them back by the fall when they start appearing as prizes, for much less.
I have no problem with this guy: strike while the market is hot. If people are desperate enough to buy at high prices, good for him.
In most cases its perfectly within their rights to sell these, but what people have a problem with is the Lvl 6's and high level LE's that are given away. Most people will never get near one of these, let alone have a chance to win one but full sets are given away and then sold. Figure a few handfulls are given away at the big cons, but that number is exceeded by giving a few employee's sets.
I don't think any of us are upset that they give them away, but that so many come up for sale when so many players have never even had the chance to win them.
They do get complete sets of the LEs and such. We see enough of these guys in our area ( Cincy) to know. Even though it is legit fo rthem to sale them it does leave a sorta bad taste. More than likely the guy does not even play MK or any of the other games. On a side note that will make someone happy. A guy in our play group bought a collection off an X employee of WKs on Ebay. He got tanks, Rebellion set with uniques, and some other odds and ends. He pulled out all the uniques and set the rest aside to sort later. When he finaly sorted the rest out he found a Marz and Blackthorn that had never been opened. I think the auction cost him around 100bucs or so. So I guess some good comes of things like this
As far as I know, this is only the third person to sell sinister LE`s on ebay. I wouldnt call that "flooding the market".
Its a good opportunity for people who cant participate in tourneys to be able to purchase their favourite LE fig.
