Anyways,no figures suould nor will ever be banned from MK just beacuse they are old, useless, strong, support good stragties,or are broken,or deserve to be banned. If you cant stop GA then you need to talk to your venue\warlord about it.But if you just happen to live in GA and your warlord's name is John hand hes ranked in the top 20 on MK.com under the name Prias, then i'd drop any chances.:D but of course what are the chances:D:D ;) :D ?
Please, no banning Wizkids. Too much banning and restricting was one of the primary reasons that I quit many of the card games I once played. They make a card, then decide "Oops, it's too powerful. Let's ban it." Banning is just a bad idea. If something may be too powerful, perhaps they should consider that BEFORE they finalize it.
Im not condoning banning anything just yet, but what if something is too powerful that everything else has no chance to be competitive? Is this a better alternative to banning? I dont think that it is.
In a "certain" card game, it is usually a massive amount of hate mail from the players that get cards banned (i.e. a certain deck that won consistently on turn 1).
And if there is a LE or unique or non that is so good, every army plays it that can. And the price of that fig skyrocketted to where only people with money could have it. So then the richer you are the more likely you are to win. Is that what you want. Something like that happened in M:tG 4 years ago. And the components of that deck were banned and restricted in every format. It is kinda bad when you have to pay $80-100 dollars 4 for cards. Then it gets real bad when every card in the deck with the exception of the basic land (which there is not much of) is $10-30. With about 16 of them being $25-30.
Atlanteans only have one figure with Defend, the Elven Demi Magus, and paying 40 points to get a figure with 16 Defend doesn't go far in the support department
Atlantean's low defense and general lack of good defensive abilities (excluding Battle Armor) tends to make them strong offensively, but weak defensively.
I too would prefer that sufficent testing was performed to ensure that banning never became necassary. In some cases with M:TG, it was truly a wonder that the imbalances were not found before a set's release. A card called Memory Jar was banned something like a week after the release of Urza's Legacy because in combination with Megrim it was absurdly powerful.
I don't feel that there are any current figures in MK that need to be banned, though Anunub comes close it by being an extremely useful and extremely rare figure that few people have access to.
