I figure that there's little to no point in having figures with multiple arrows without F/L and with MI (ie. Magus drac). So to make these multiple arrows more worthwhile I propose the following:
A player may divide the total damage as he sees fit among the targets. In the case of magus drac on its starting click a controlling player player might divide the damage done like this.
If the figures total damage is 1 then he can only damage one figure for 1 click even though his dial have 2 or more arrows unless he's magically enhanced.
It seems a bit too powerful. This is the rule that Mechwarrior uses. As long as the figure in MK does not have MI, it can always be enhanced to cause more damage. I think your suggestion hurts magic enhancement which in contrast, does not exist in Mechwarrior as far as I know.
Can't see how they are useless !
When faced with a formation of WM melee figures or some such situation you may be able to take out their WM or bring their attack values down by one or two points, all of which seem very worthwhile to me.
hmmm..correct me if i'm wrong, but multiple targets are considered to be hit simultaneously...so if you shoot three targets with no ME,assuming all three targets are in base contact forming a straight line, the center fig will take 3 clicks of damage and the other two will take 2 clicks. this is because there is a splash from every target. just imagine if you can enhance this kind of attack....i should know,i've used it several times with disastrous results....this kind of attack can render 5*** steam golems useless with one shot
i agree...it may only be one click...but multiple figs....just like ramming multiple figs, but even better coz u can melt figs that u can't ram (like if there's no place for your rammer to land)
I think distributing the damage wouldn't be game altering but would make some figs more worthwhile. Such as Magus Draconum, Heirophant, and all those lame heros with 2 targets and no attack abilities.
I don't like the idea.
Splitting damage as you see fit sounds nice, but what's that thing about figures with a natural one damage? The multiple arrows would be totally senseless on them without ME, and with ME they would still be much worse than they are now. Why do you want them to be even more useless???
how about this thing being optional. like being able to keep the 1 damage to all targets for the figs with 1 or 2 damage but with 4 arrows, but the bigger figs can distribute damage to a minimum of 1 damage per target.
