Question about Energy Explosion and Critical Hits and splash damage.
Ok Dr. Doom attacks 2 Green Lantern and Batman who are adjacent to each other with energy explosion. Doom has 2 attacks so he uses Energy Explosion on Both of them. Doom rolls for his first attack and gets a critical so what happens.
1) Both Green Lantern and Batman take 2 clicks and then due to knockback are not next to each other anymore. Thus when batman is attacked only he will take damage.
2) Both green Lantern and Batman take 2 clicks and are not knocked back until after the attack on Batman occurs.

3) Something else.
Doom only has 1 attack (he can target multiple characters with that attack). So it's one dice roll and the attack damage occurs at once. Since Green Lantern and Batman were both hit and adjacent and Doom rolled a critical they would each be dealt 3 clicks of damage (1 for initial attack + 1 for splash + 1 for critical). They would each be pushed back 3 squares away from Doom assuming they both took 3 clicks of damage (ie. they didn't have damage reducing powers).
