Playtip: First, the bad news. You can't make a ranged combat attack if you have this relic. So what! It's requirement is a sword attack, which means that most of the guys you could put it on are going to excel at close combat attacks anyway.
Blackheart is not cheap at 46 points, especially if wielded by someone like Khan Harrowblade. The pay off, however, is tremendous. First the wielder gets a +1 to his defense. With Khan Harrowblade, that starts him at an 18. That's nice, but that's just gravy compared to the optional ability of Blackheart. If the wielder has a higher unmodified damage value then the target, the attack succeeds. What's that? No worrying about bad luck with the dice, or even a critical miss? Put this relic on the right warrior, and there is not going to be much he can't hit.
The ultimate combination? Khan Harrowblade + Blackheart. A fresh Harrowblade, surges a target with a lower damage, and automatically hits for 5 damage. But wait, he's a Broken Tusk, so let's give him 1!, no, 2!, no, 3! clicks of damage to boost that 5 to an 8! That should be enough to take down most any opponent. It also puts Khan Harrowblade on his first click of regeneration, and with a lucky regen roll you can do it all over again.
For the record, there are just 40 or so warriors with a damage higher then 5, and 10 of them are titans or multi-dial figures, and only 1 is non-unique (the tough Flayed Lord).

If there is ever a power combo that will be targeted with jeers, this is it. But the cost is 1/2 your point build....I'd ask is it worth it, but on a broken tusk like this...YES!
That weapon would be soooo borken if it could be equipped on certain 1.0 figures (Orc Captian!). I love this relic, and I can't wait to get my hands on it!
BTW, the only non-unique figure with a natural five damage is a Flayed Lord when he goes berserk.
