Play Tip: Wylden Forest is pretty clear cut. By turning all clear terrain to hindering, you can effectively convert most of the playing field into one big jungle. It won't help to place a clear terrain template, as it to will become hindering. Stealth based armies will be able to take the most advantage of this Domain, as they cannot be targeted by ranged attacks. A force mixing both Stealth and Pathfinder will take the most advantage of this Domain. Another, unexpected army type, would be one centered around Soaring warriors and ranged attacks. Be prepared in case your opponent brings Open Terrain or River Valley, however, as your cover might get blown!
History: Fennel hunched against the side of the ancient oak, his bow already drawn and steady. His arrow tracked a Dark Crusaders rider below, waiting for the right moment to fire at the black-armored knight. Bracing for the shock, he let fly, his arrow a cue to his fellow Elves to immediately fire their own shots at the enemy warrior.
Leaping down from the tree, Fennel drew his short sword and charged. While the mount was down and screaming, the Forest Elf knew he had to finish off the Crusaders knight quickly. But when the Vampire stood up with unnatural grace, bastard sword already in hand, Fennel knew that he had only one chance. Gathering all his courage, the Forest Elf leapt onto the Vampire, throwing him to the ground with a crash of metal. Then, hoping he would hit a weak spot, Fennel began wildly stabbing at the loathsome undead creature with all his might.
Pathfinders and stealth figures get a boost here. If there are some figures with both SA that could really make things fun. then of course that means we will see more MB. It is going to be interesting to see how the domain cards play out
I love the history stories. They are just a enough to draw you in, wanting more. Great writing!
It'd be cool to see this domain played effectively, a soaring army against a stealth/pathfinder army or something similiar. Being forced to play an army where this would hurt and finding ways to come out on top would be quite fulfilling too.
