i think that the ability to make all the new uniques and hopefully heros have the ability to get beffed up (or get 36 in. range) is going to be cool. I only wish that you could put the items on any fig. new or old, unique or non. then there would be a whole lot of options (like podo with 36 in. range!).
I voted "I'm not excited", but I guess that's only because this was the only "negative" vote possible. I'm very interesting in seeing MK develop therefore I'm happy WK has invested energy and money in advancing the game. However, I was perfectly happy with MK as it was. I do feel there were fixes that were needed and some modifications to a few rules, but overall I really enjoyed the game as it was.
Therefore, although I am excited about 2.0, my excitement is primarily in the fact that it will keep the game going for at least the short term. Fingers are crossed that it will be for the long term as well.
Voted Everyting, but the Ability Nexus, Relics, especially with LE's, some of the new abilities. shoot, it is all good, I just can't wait to sit down with a bunch of figs and put an army together, and then play.
I like the concept of the objectives the most of the options in the poll. being able to win by tactical movement and placement of units is a good thing in my book. Unfortunatly wizkids intentionaly bloated the Unique figs bases to completly hold the objectives and added the ability to "taxi" slow moving figs [read deep dialed uniques] to said objectives.
I would of said the domain abilities, but i have SERIOUS concerns about the balances of the domain cards after seeing one that negates all range attacks, which is only countered by domains that severly reduce range attacks themselves.
I really don't like the "unique" figs in MK and so relics are not going to be that big to me. Lovce decapitator though!
Love a lot of the new sculpts. fat arsed orc warbeast will be beating and eating some player characters in my D&D games. The undead feral bloodsucker looks ok. The blood shaman will be tons of fun to repaint. The Gryphon is nice though Reaper miniatures' warlord fig is much nicer. Real shame no mage spawn in 2.0 core set.
personally, in spite of these new melee oriented rules (i love melee) im looking forward most to just getting new figures to bolster the ranks of my sect and orc armies that i love. i hope they fix the factions to formation up.
The real improvements, and the improvements that were sorely needed will be the proficiencies. We could have done without new factions, factional abilities, new abilities, relics, domains, etc. It's all just bells and whistles.
