Kosian Shieldtome

Play Tip: Great for those having troubles with ranged armies, the Kosian Shieldtome wielded by one of your Uniques with the wand attack type will help keep you and your allies safe until you close the gap with the enemy. A –2 speed value modifier is a small price to pay to give some grief to your ranged combat opponents.

History: Discovered within the Blasted Lands, this ancient tome allowed the Priest-Kings to survive dozens of battles unscathed.

Design Note: The Kosian Shieldtome offers a reasonably good ability: avoiding ranged combat attacks for the wielder and all its buddies in base contact with it. The price for this ability is a decreased speed value, so it’s going to slow things down a bit. A good balance overall.
