My question is if these figures are all good in their own element, or whether, by expierance one ahs proven better then the others. Or maybe if there exists a better one that I'm missing. Thanks for your time.
While 8" Surge is not high, it's not bad, and when you consider you can move them into position with 12" FM and how cheap they are, I think they're a big bargain! Especially with their Gang-Up potential!
A 12-inch surge, 13-attack, and 5 damage. Unlike striker, though it can surge further, Techun can get into the thick of the battle and still have better chance of getting away and surviving.
Now even Wraith will cower at the sight of Techun!
problem with "great" Surgers that can Surge from a mile away, like Techun...if you do that, then your Techun is sitting there alone, and can be rear-arc Surged, with 3 actions, if your opponent has decent Surgers around, your Techun will die or be cancelled. To me, techun is an awesome unique-killer in 2.0
with his great Range attack, and awesome Surge, most 2.0 figs will be running from him!!!
For me I like the Solonavi Striker simply for its versatility.
It can surge for 14" with flight so it can ignore all terrain and it can range attack for 14" with Flame/lightning. No matter what domain your opponent may use the Striker will always have an optimal use. If surging is cancelled or reduced his range is key. If range is cancelled or reduced his surging is key. Add to that he has Battle Fury to prevent capturing and Toughness to prevent auto-damage.
The only weakness I see is when surging him to be careful when he is about to go to his third or fourth click. He gains Bound which limits his movement considerably and denies him an easy break. He does require some support when surging in case he is forced into those clicks but overall I think he is a solid figure.
