The other day I played an army that consisted of....
3X**Centaur Zombies
9X* Centaur Zombies
Use clear terrain and blasted lands as your terrain cards to eliminate the chance to have mountain pass played on you...
The mobility of this army is great with three 3 centaur formations and 3 centaurs with quickness you can move all 12 centaur zombies in a single turn if neccesary. They do good damage with decent attack and defense. The whole bit is to use your mobility to your advantage swarm centerpieces move out of firing arcs of ranged figures, gang up, surge and go to town. No matter what your opponent brings it will be hard for him to chew through 12 of these figs in 50 minutes. Play tag with the objectives and swarm what you can. If they are soaring and using ranged attacks just use your mobility to keep the majority of figs out of arc or range. Bounders Like K. Rava can be a bit of a problem but doubletime, base and surround those type of figures then pound away...I'm not saying this army is unbeatable but it is hard to take down...
And just so you know, my brother came up with the name "evil polo team", and I posted an extremely similiar army on the wizkids forum and named it there the "evil polo team".
Well, Sometimes people think along similiar lines...using a bunch of Centaurs...Well using the term polo team is no big stretch now is it? I wasn't claiming that what I called it was original either...just a good description...what's the big deal anywhoo?...I'm not claiming originality or rights to the army or anything silly like that. Just that this is an army I came up with and it worked well for me...
I wasn't trying to be overly-agressive, I know you frequent the Wizkids boards, so you must have seen it there before.
I was just pointing out where I originally posted basically the same army, there's also a thread on a different part of these boards that discusses it as well. Basically I'm saying that this has been talked to death and you can see what everyone thinks of it in at least three different spots.
Ahhh I see the blind man says :) 'Kay we're fine then. I apologize for starting a new thread and beating a dead horse then....Pun most definitely intended... I tried playing with the grave robbers a few time and they really weren't that great of a factor. As matter of fact they just had big red targets painted on them. I think in the two games I played with the robbers I brought back one centaur. Having the extra frontline fighters seem to work better for me. Also the ***ZC's are real nice but I preferred to knock em down a peg or two and just take more troops....
You should check out some more of the threads. I sort of explained why I personally like the grave robbers and a factor of it being that they do in fact have a big target on them, it distracts from the main force.
That's too bad you've only brought one back, I've played the army about 3 times now, and have never brought back less than two, in fact I believe I've brought back four in one game, so in the end I'm using 14 ZC's over your 12, but if you don't like luck, don't use them.
With the rotation, my old army doesn't work, so I've been thinking about what my options are left for necromancy, or simply changing it up to a revenanter. I was trying to stay away from revenant since it's always used, but it seems my options are severly limited.
lol only zombie centaurs, but a cool way to crush an army. They are good ones to swarm an army. But maybe figs with sweep - like Gate Lord - would be though to beat
