November 10, 2004 (SEATTLE) — WizKids Inc., makers of the best-selling Mage Knight™, HeroClix® and MechWarrior® collectable miniatures games (CMGs), is proud to announce the upcoming Mage Knight: Omens release, the next expansion for the fantasy Mage Knight CMG.
“Omens introduces several new game play elements to the Mage Knight universe,” said Jordan Weisman, WizKids® CEO. “New champion warriors lead armies to victory, and players can now form adventuring companies for extra strategy — without increasing the game’s complexity.” The Omens expansion also introduces much-loved characters from Mage Knight fiction, including Rayden Marz and Oracle Kastali, to the CMG.
Each Mage Knight:Omens Booster Pack (MSRP $7.99) contains four randomly selected miniature figures, one randomly selected card and a rules insert. Learn more about Mage Knight online at www.wizkidsgames.com/mageknight.

I smell Dungeons "Champion Warriors" , "adventuring companies".....sounds like heros and heroic teams.....more info please?....man they like to give us just a little then leave us hanging.
Sounds to me like they are combining Conquest-like rules (champion warriors) AND Dungeons rules (adventuring companies) into one release! Now that would be the greatest! Either way, more options is always a good thing, and Rayden Marz ... awesome!
I have a feeling that it still is pretty early in its development cycle. The new mechanics are pretty vague, and they didn't even give us an estimate as to when it will release. The least they could have done was say "Coming Spring of 2005."
I'd say we are probably looking at a release somewhere between April and June, which is fine by me. My wallet could use some time to recover from Sorcery.
Come on now, ye big solonavi mentioned a while ago in the scrying chamber. While they're at it, lets have the bone dragon, too. Looks cool, but there's not enough info yet. Thanks!
I was looking and saw that the next DC set comes out in March 05, so extrapolating the fact that Ultiments came out in late july, Sorcery came out in late september, MM comes out at end of month, AoD in late January 05, then the DC set in late march 05, then my guess is we see Omens sometime around late May early June 05.
Yay, some info! I use the word "some" quite liberally! Hehehe.
Anyway some news is better than no news in this case.
I wonder what will differentiate "champions" from uniques? Maybe they'll be pure-faction only? That would be amazingly cool and would keep me interested in the game.
I did notice we're back down to 4 figures and 1 card, but the increase a dollar is still there. As always Wizkids is going to sneak by with a price increase...I mean come on, I can understand it with Heroclix and to an extent Mechwarrior, but it's not like WK is paying big money to get liscences for Mage Knight figures. Lay off the inflation on in-house properties!
I think JontheDino may have guessed right, Dungeons rules and Conquest rules all in one, though the way the describe it almost sounds like rules for maybe some sort of D&D type thing.
Oh and I think Champions will probably have some sort of special abilities that maybe when you play pure faction come into effect and can enhance your army...or something to that effect.
