I pronounce Magus as "MAY-gus"

Pulling my English degree out of the closet and stealing Sigmazero13's stamper, I give a stamp to all the "MAY-gus" people. But even that's not quite right from history. :)
The "a" is short as in "travel" or "bat". The "g" is, indeed, hard like "great" or "golly".
The term comes from an Indian (if I remember correctly) legend in which a troll-like creature weilded strange and supernatural abilities. They were "Magi". A single magic weilding creature would be a "magus" pronounced: "MA-gus". Interestingly, when we adopted the concept of "magic" the "g" became soft like a "j". "Majik"

As for the rest, I mostly spend my time yelling at one kid about Factions not having anything to do with math (fRaction) and then correcting everyone about the gender of most new draconum and Magus Relaphon.
