For the month of January, the following prizes will be available for specific events. Make sure your retailer and Envoy know what events you want to participate in, so that they can schedule now! LE's may show up again in different tournament format types.
Please Note: These kits are subject to change without notice. Prize kit contents may vary depending on figure availability. While WizKids will make every attempt to ensure that every venue who signs up for the appropriate event receives the prize kit as stated, last minute changes and substitutions may occur.
Mage Knight Storyline Event - Light and Shadow!
Before the Orc leader, Kzar Nabar, met his end by Solonavi treachery at the Battle of Rokos, he was able to lead the Shadow Khans to victory against the Prieskans. Through the course of the last year, the Shadow Khans have transformed the Prieskan homeland into a raider’s paradise, where food, wine, slaves, and concubines are plentiful. The Solonavi, however, knowing just how close the Orcs actually came to sundering the Atlantean defenses at Luxor, have decided to crush the Shadow Khans before they can mount an attack against the Solonavi stronghold. While this may have once been an easy task for the Solonavi before they cast their mighty spell, the strength of the Orc Khan mages may now provide a stiffer challenge than the Solonavi expect.
Mage Knight Storyline Event - The Walls of Alrisar!
Although the Prieskans initially managed to hold the city of Alrisar from being sacked by Kzar Rabahn, they have barely been able to protect the city against marauders. Now, with the battle between the Solonavi and the Shadow Khans completed and the sword of war turned against them, the Atlanteans must fight for survival once again. But this time, the Prieskans have the aid of a host of warriors sent by Emperor Nujarek.
Build the best 300 point army from 3 Mage Knight:Sorcery boosters and lead it to victory! For this event, each player may bring a single spellbook, which cannot be worth more than 30 points. Additionally, faction requirements for all spellbooks and spells are ignored throughout the event. However, capacity and page count values are used as normal, and affinity page count requirements are not ignored.
Good month for me (large number of events as well as prizes I actually need), bad month for Orcs (by by shadow khans)....though I think the "Walls of Alrisar" event will be heavily skewed in the AEs favor. Did you guys see the thing about sealed? faction reqs for spells and spellbooks ARE IGNORED...go go spell books of power.
That's awesome that they went for an unusual match up between the Solos and the Orcs. That's really a toss up. I can't put odds on who would win. We'll have to see what the special rules are for it.
And I'm not sure, but it sounds like the second one is the AE vs. everyone. Similar to the second storyline events for Oct. and Nov.
And very cool that they are doing unrestricted. And a sealed. And that they compensate for the problems of Sorcery for Sealed.
The New Year is looking like its going to be a good one.
"Now, with the battle between the Solonavi and the Shadow Khans completed and the sword of war turned against them, the Atlanteans must fight for survival once again. But this time, the Prieskans have the aid of a host of warriors sent by Emperor Nujarek."
actually looks like the AE versus the winner of the OK vs Sol event.
"For this event, each player may bring a single spellbook, which cannot be worth more than 30 points." Does that mean we can bring accompanying spells along with it as well?
And i am really really loving these tournaments...

I doubt it. Allowing a 30 pt book without faction requirements ensures you will be able to use whatever spells you pull from the boosters.
I'm just excited to see a Solonavi scenario. Those guys have been up to a whole lot of nothing in the scenario scene. And I feel the Orcs would cream them. If you look at Faction War results, Solonavi were fourth place and Orcs were third.
