Wylden Host Leader
Magestone Bracers
Teachings of the True Way
Psychic Reflection
Wyrm Strike
Auraheal
x3 ** Solonavi Shade
*** Scalesworn Honorguard on
** EF Horned Stag
Strategy: Keep Shades near Stag t copy either ram if they are about toattack something, or ghostform to keep from getting shot. Then the Leader can play a support role with auraheal and magic healing or a blastey role with wyrmstrike and stormfire. The ony problem is soaring magic immune figures. ANy suggestions?
Are you going to cast Psychic Reflection on the Wylden Host Leader? It is useless to copy ghostform because you can only mind tap abilities during your turn. Mind tapping ram is a great idea, but doing that could restrict somewhat the fast movement of the stag. Figures with tougness could pose a bit of a problem too.
Personally, I would use something other than auraheal. She already has magic healing, so why give it to her again. You could put Wolf's Kin in instead. Terrify, regen, and counterattack are fun. :D

True, but it's not entirely useless. I played against a nasty formation of 3 ** Shades with a book-wielding * Oracle of Rokos behind them. Once I got within 12", my opponent tapped Ghostform and cast Spiritbind _through_ the shades (GF figures don't block lines of fire). Poof, Kenaz was now his.

This wy the shades can become either close combat awesomeos with thunder blow or they can become ranged threats with mage blast. Also, I get a semi-solid counter-speller if the leader is tied up. Also, I really like auraheal because the figures can be in bae contact with enemies and you don't have to make an atack against them.
I'd just like to point out that auraheal can be infinitely better then magic healing due to the AOE healing, and the above noted point of point that it can be cast in base contact, and can heal friendlies in base contact. Just the edge you need when it all gets crazy.
yeah... it just rocks when they try to kill your figs, and fail, and then they need to face a freshly healed unique again. Not to mention using kess with auraheal usually means a 4 click healing radius.
Also a fun thing to mention: Auraheal uses your damage value, and does not say unmodified damage value. This was pretty fun when Kenaz hopped up on the crown with bracers of the giant was aurahealing for six clicks. (while Chroma and the throne monk were trying to break up the fumarole formation in vain. hehe)
I have decided that I want to somehing with more freeholds figures in it so without further ado...
Wylden Host Leader---124
Magestone Bracers
Teachings of the True Way
Wyrm Strike/Rain of Thorns (depending on type of army swarm or few big figures)
Auraheal
Word of Refusal
Archer's Aim
*** Tempest Priest------------44
X2 * Bloood Demon------------66
X2 Solonavi Shade-------------58
Strategy: First turn double time both demons and have host leader cast archer's aim on herself then bookmark Word of Refusal. Then when they cast spell cast it and surprise them.
The most obvious reason to copy Ghostform is to get the "fail to break away only on a roll of 1" bonus. I use that all the time with Oracle Daheia to keep her from gettiing pinned
It has also been mentioned a lot... that copying ghostform will allow you to shoot an opposing figure and still be protected by a "meat shield".
But just a question... what would the purpose of the tough tempest priest be? Especially since he's not wielding anything in your revised army? I would probably use the weak one even if it is only for healing. Of course, if you planned to copy mage blast, that might work.
yeah, i like mage balst and he is very good if you get wylden deeps. Pathfinder for the shades to copy stealth and the demns can go their normal speed by double-timing. or wylden forest for a lesser effect but the shaeds can still get pahfinder fom the host leaDER
