With the release of the Beta conquest rules there is bound to be some necessary tinkering, so I would like to devote this thread towards suggesting possible fixes.
already mentioned was the Imperial Legion's fate with the changes to demoralization.
I would also like to raise the problem of instant-kill relics facing Titans, should some sort of exemption be included?
The demoralized rule seems like a bad idea in general. The new Podo starts with it right? Krang starts with it. It just seems to neuter too many figs even without that subfaction ability problem.
The Titans thing seems to be a problem as well.
Also, are the 400 point groups a team unto themselves? I mean does each 400 unit only have on relic between them or can it be 2 relics on one 400 point unit in an 800 point game? (Or else those nifty Realms exclusives are going to gather a little bit of dust).
KitsuneKaboo-a figure with Demoralize is eliminated ONLY if damage from an opponent caused it to become demoralized.
the titan rule isnt bad,it it still allows 2 actions for them a turn
(free move + normal action)if not in b2b with an opposing fig.
also,its 2 items per 400pts & ONLY 1 of the 2 can be a relic.
though the demorilized rule does suck(in-a-way)makes for some interesting strategy...
it pushes you to play castle pieces & figs with command for those extra actions.I think standard play should be 800-1,200pts max.(for tornament play).

Maybe they should... ya know... make some rules for it. I mean, the paragraph of nothing new is great and all, but I would expect people would want some rules that are more than two tiny pages.
What they are saying is nothing except "Big formations, place objectives, items based on points, you get actions based on points." Woooo... whoever writes these rules is a genius.

Hmmm...counting all the figures that currently exist starting with demoralized, we have 7 figures, adding Podo from Omens, we have 8! Not "too many, for me. Many more figures are "unplayable" in any other version of the game.
Demoralized figures just slow down Conquest far too much. Leave it the way it is.
On the other hand, I think capturing should be allowed. Too many relics count on capturing to counter (Spirit Armor) and it's not the issue it was in Unlimited (no need to get the figures to the starting area).
As for autokills, I'm not sure that should be an issue for the Conquest rules, but rather the Titan/Multi-dial rules.
I would submit that these rules are a bare bones starting point at best.
A few points-
Fix demoralized. Just say those figures can't make actions...
Do something to make Castles' fortifications matter (Rule of three)
At least THINK FOR A SECOND about what the ramifications of Relics/Spells/Item combos that will allow for large scale insta kills and such... Something as simple as Mechanoid+neutralize magestone, with stone shatter and black sledge in the army.... Hit figures in the middle of every formation, and the opponents army is in total disarray with broken formations everywhere... This is one simple examle, not even getting into the effect this combo and other would have on TITANS....
Heh... L_Slot said it well. They have 2 weeks of limited feedback from people, then they will "tweak" it. They have had years now (yes, years... at least one and a bit) to come up with some rules that will fit with 2.0. I'm personally surprised they did it at all with all the talk earlier about them, and then nothing coming of it. How much tweaking can you do in 2 weeks.
If it took these guys over a year to produce this, I wouldn't count on the finalised version of the rules being any more than those few paragraphs already here, with the normal skirmish rules added at the bottom ;)

Remember, all 1.0 Figures will be retiring soon. I don't think they're going to be doing much tweaking of Conquest for figures outside of the current tourney-legal batch. Nor would I expect them to.
Also- as others have mentioned, they fix the "demoralized figures are removed" problem by making it trigger only on damage from an opposing figure. That there is good enough for me.
