Well, I havent been here in sometime now. After I bought a set of the first wave I didnt have anyone in my area I knew of to play with so now they just collect dust.
After looking over the posts here and seeing very little interaction from MK I take it that its not looking good.
I'm wondering if we will even see Wave 3? I took a look today at Plan-B web page to see if there are any new figures and they dont even list the ShadowRun figures now.
I so wanted the Vampire & Toxic Shaman too... :(
Am I correct in assuming that SR:D is on its way out? :(
I hate to say it but I have the same feeling, When the first wave came out it was flying off the shelf I had to wait for almost a month to get all the figures I wanted because they were sold out nearly everywhere. When they put off the release date for the second wave it seemed to almost kill the game. One can only hope that the local gaming stores will do a bunch of demos or events really soon or it could be dead forever.
Well, i have heard that WK will release wave 3, but after that, it is up in the air....
they are leaving it up to the fans to keep the game alive.
there are some cool ideas about suplimental rules here and on the Yahoo sight,
and you asked about Plan-B, well it is still there, but you have to look for it.
here is the web site. http://www.plan-btoys.com/shadowrun.html
hope you can keep the faith and promote the game. don't give up on it yet. it still has a chance - and even if WK gives up, i plan on playing it far into the future.
The gAme would be kept alive if the would support it with tourneys like the other WK games. Originally they siad they would but they have trouble getting off thier respecteive butts and doing it. People need to post on there site to get tourneys for shadowrun.
i think that series 3 will be released. i hope until march. then there will be a chance for sr to survive. i will support this gigantic game. till now i have 6 figures and they won´t be the last one.
Truly I feel that unless SR gets support with other items/figures either thru the WK or thru magazines,
such as Scrye and Inquest, we will kiss it goodbye.
The game itself has awesome rules and COULD be
ezpanded infinitely but without further rules, it is still
the same 6 (now 12) figures fighting in an arenastyle.
Here's an idea that could save the game. Re-package the figures with one weapon, the figure, and the dial. Then lower the price to around $8.99. Sell expansion packs for items at $5.99 such as magic pack, tech pack, close assault pack, ranged assault pack, etc.... Then have Topps release these figures at Toy$-R-U$ and W@lm@rt. I think that people would start buying the figures because they look so damn cool and then start playing the game afterwards.
They could also sell a package that only contains a new dial and a new head. That way, anyone could customize their figures. I know I'm just dreaming but stranger things have happened.
they just need some generic nameless figs like corp guard and such...one gun...one dial...basic stats no extra equipment..then i think the game would take off...with no bad guys..its kinda silly..your runnin against runners? or just release dials with no fig...named...corp guard, corp techie and so on..we can put our own figures on the bases...heh i have a mummy i put on liada's base and use him as an enemy, like the vampire will be...you can do nearly anything with a base...we just need stats..the figure is the bonus.
