While I am very much looking foward to Wizkids game. I was wonder might allow someone else to do expansions for the classic CS. I mean it is allowed for Mech Warrior and Shadowrun (I think).
I aready plan on using the WK models planes for the old board game. The paint job is good and I love they got the decals for the factions they belong to. I would like to see the rumored blimp rules and more region books for the west coast and south. Of course I will be using the canyon and cityscape maps of the orginal game.
Microsoft DID NOT buy FASA.
WizKids Bought the parts of FASA they wanted.
Microsoft already owned Crimson Skies.
Jordan Weisman works for Microsoft.
He created the game for the Computer first.
FASA liscensced the rights to Crimson Skies to make the Mard Game.
Jordan Weisman helped Create FASA, then went to work for Microsoft. Later he created WizKids, but he still works for Microsoft.
Hopefully WizKids will produce books, but that is being discussed in another thread. I wasn't sure about the whole FASA thing at first(I should not have listened to that guy), but now it is good that I know the real story.
Sorry for the double post.
Here is a little info to support Rapierduel's post.
FASA is a developer of interactive entertainment software and is known for their work on games such as Shadowrun, Battletech, Earthdawn, Vor, and Crimson Skies. They were bought out by Microsoft in 1999.
I'm not sure on exact release date of the board game, but it did come out before the computer game.
