Well this is a pretty good FAQ. They answered the question of whether an error/blooper counts as a hit for the batter, gaining him a click of performance. They answer a few other questions that I am happy they officially answered.
Actually, I do have a question now that I didn't have before....LOL. I think the FAQ is good, but here is the thing that doesn't make sense to me.
In one version of play, it states that if you have to click down and get to the 3 balls, that player must be removed from the game. In the section dealing with the Shut'Em Down Intangible (Flamethrower) would apply also, it says that if a RP comes in the game and retires the last batter, he can gain the "roll em" click (if successful) after taking the click down for using the intangible. However, if you use the intangible, and you have to click down first, you get the 3 balls and would have to be removed from the game.
I curious if that wording should be altered, or maybe nobody else cares....lol

This isn't a really big worry...
Currently no relievers end their dial with any intangibles but yes you would resolve the at-bat (Shut'em Down or Flamethrower) before resolving the inning and you could lose your pitcher. If we are talking about relievers and he's on his last click he will not becoming back in he next inning because of fatigue anyways.
Great FAQ. It clears an awful of lot of grey areas up, although I'm not really in favour of 'ball-hog' figures dominating zones they aren't assigned to. I guess we'll see an awful lot of Andruw Jones in Center Field.
I definitely agree.
It's a bit late for them to do something like this, but if they want to allow free roaming like that, they could expand the number of zones to 9. Honestly, I think it would really help in terms of people having trouble scoring runs, because there would be a lot more hits (only 3/9 outfield zones are routine, 4/9 infield zones). Also, there'd be no need for "zones" for positions; you could do any kind of shift you want. Of course they wouldn't even consider that because:
1) the current players would be worthless unless they got real creative on how to adapt their spray charts
2) you'd need a 9 sided die, which isn't a big deal really, but it's yet another piece of equipment
3) they'd obviously need to redo the playing field, and making everyone buy all new starter sets, or even all new sets again would almost certainly kill customer loyalty
Still, it would even eliminate the questions people have about 2nd base being right between SS and 2B for fielding and throwing, etc. because there would be a zone for the bag. This would also allow for representation of ground balls right over 2nd base to, unlike just another grounder as it currently stands.
That's true, I was not thinking of the balancing of a 9-sided die, which would be unable to have equal sides. I know they make dice with a bunch of sides for D&D type games, so I was figuring they have something like this in existance. Even still I have to believe there would be a way to work it out, or use a number other than 9. They won't, nor should they, pursue anything so drastic for this game however for reasons I already mentioned.
Still, it is ridiculous to play under rules that say that your shortstop can trapse across the bag and make plays for your second baseman. Adding the extra zones would make this go away, and scorchers hit to gaps issues that are mentioned frequently on this board go away to a large extent also.
