The spoilers for the cards are already going up in the "Spoilers from Origins" thread, so I won't go into that here.
My demo pack arrived today. It has a bag full of decoder rings, four ships (a Legion cruiser, a rebel fighter squad, and two copies of a Martian rocketship), three resource/pod cards, and many copies of a mixed crew card (with a Legion captain, a Martian weapons officer, and two Rebel fighter pilots). Plus control cards for the ships.
The points are balanced so that you can run the following two opposing fleets:
The posts don't stay on the bases very well, and it can be hard to get the crew to go into the bases in the first place. The Martian ships are a bit tricky to get pods onto. Getting everything back into the cards is made a bit complicated by the long spurs, although you can always snap those off the cards.
The demo packs don't come with rulebooks, I'll have to print one off before I run a demo.
Cool. Are you allowed to post any of the stats, or are you under an agreement with Wizkids? I'm curious if the Fighters and Cruiser are the same as the convention promotions (which we do have stats for), but the Martian Rocketship is new, and I would love to get some more info on that.

Only had problem with one captain. Everything else seemed fine (although pods are tricky to get back in the cards). I recommend adding crew before putting the actual ship on the base. It's easier that way.
I'm actually not sure about posting. It strikes me that they're demos, they didn't come with any admonishment not to USE them yet, so talking about them should be fine. But it's bedtime, so I'll sleep on it. :)

Hope you can give us some info; I'd really like to know the stats of the crew!
Captain: 3 points - Adds 1 die to boarding rolls. Once per turn, firing doesn't mean you have to end your turn after firing. Generates +2 AP after firing. Most of the Nick Sion stuff, basically.
Weapons Officer: 2 points - Weapons rating -1.
Fighter Pilot: 1 point - You can choose which pod gets removed when you hit.
Point values may be different for other factions (i.e. Venusian weapons officers may be 3 points, Rebel captains may be 4 points, etc.).
I received my demo kit also and had a chance to play it for the first time today. The game was a lot of fun and played well. We never had any questions that weren't addressed in the rulebook. The Martian rocketship that comes in the demo is a beast. Especially with the right crew.
I never really had a problem with posts staying on their bases, but when you put a ship together be sure to put the crew on the base first, as they can be troublesome to get into those slots. Also, when you put ships like the Martian one together, don't expect to be able to get the pieces back onto the cards due to the long slits. Microids and pods weren't too bad though. Overall they're more difficult to get back onto the cards than Pirates ships are.
Cool, thanks for the overview, everyone. Now, if the Rebel Fighters are the Griffon's, and the Terra Cruiser is the Lord's Justice, then with the crew loadouts as listed by [email protected], that means that the Martian Rocketship is 12 points! As AasonTheRed says, that would be a beast. So, anyone out there not under a Wizkids NDA that's seen the packs (like, oh, say, someone who got to play a demo? :)) want to share with the rest of us? I really want to see this rocketship...
I didn't actually get demo pack. I managed to get ahold of the two promo-packs that were given out at Origins and the San Diego Comicon (thanks again!). So all I have is a single squadron of fighters, and the Lord's Justice, and one resource card.
The people who have actual demo-packs (enough ships and asteroids for a 30 v 30 game) are space marshals. Basically they are Wizkids envoys who are responsible for running Rocketmen games/demo's at local venues.
To become one of those, you need a venue to sponsor you on Wizkids site, and then you need to take a rules test. There might be some other legal hoops as well, as I am not a Space Marshal.
