Which factions got the Ares super mechs? And does n e one know if there going to be introduced in the fluff/novels?

The Ares have no faction.

All 4 of them are considered fationless,however if you ever saw the video of the Ares you may have noticed a camoflauged Atlas that looks like "Headmaster", escorting the Ares. Headmasters pilot has some ties to Marik suppodedly (mentioned in his fluff). So there is an open future tie possibility to a House or some faction group.

I got all four of them, and in the cards' fluff there's no clear reference to any of the active powers in the Inner Sphere. It's all a big mystery. All we know is that it took decades to develop the Ares 'Mechs.

And it took absolutely no time for wizkids to decide they weren't going to follow up on yet another storyline...

In fact they are so faction-less, that the ares pilots can't use faction prides or situational alliances if you recruit them. So if you use a CEC, you can't use pilots. I think its best that way.

yah, kinda stupid that WK decided not to have the Ares attack anyone when the tally came to have them hit the ROTS. If it had been any other faction you know they would have been hammered.

Let's give it some time. Let Solaris work it's way around a bit, and myabe we can get a good welocming of the ARES fiction wise. I have all 4 of them ,but don't use them. However I'm still interested in seeing a novel start to utilize them. I can wait. Who knows maybe Marik will be bringing them (God I hope not)but we cae see.

BR\SS Alliance? As in Bannson's Radiers and the Swordsworn have an alliance? But isn't Bannson married into house Liao still? I would think not even Bannson would even consider that kinda trouble consider her fears Daoshen Liao (From what I read in the novel's).

The mechs could have easily been old WoBbie celestial omnis as well, assuming they became extinct after the jihad because of taboo.

if the mech was an Ares the novel would have made explicit mention of the massive size and the third leg. for now that is probably just a new mech
