you have 2 copies of quicksilver in your hand and a sabertooth, you have quicksilver and avalon space station in play. can you power up twice ditch sabertooth to avalon and get the two copies quicksilver back.

In a word - yes.

The longer answer is yes because you discard the copies of Quicksilver while you're paying for the power ups. By the time you pay for Avalon (discard Sabretooth, target two characters in your KO'd pile) the Quicksilvers are already there, and can be targeted. Once you have the Quicksilvers back, you can use them to power up again if you like.

see thats what i said but this morning writting it, i was thinking about chains resolving and stuff. So you pay the cost when you activate, but you don't resolve them until the end of the chain, so they would be there to get but you nwould not get them in your hand until the chain resolves?

Here's the breakdown:

1. Play a power up - pay for it by discarding a Quicksilver, the effect (+1/+1) gets added to the chain.

2. Play a second power up - pay for it by discarding a Quicksilver, the effect (+1/+1) gets added to the chain.

3. Play Avalon by activating it, discarding Sabretooth and targeting the two Quicksilvers, which are already there from the cost-paying in steps 1 and 2. The effect (adding the two Quicksilvers to your hand) gets added to the chain.

4. Allow the chain to resolve, last to first.

Any time after the resolution of the Avalon effect, you can add more effects to the chain. This can include discarding the Quicksilvers to get more power ups.

Remember, you have a chance to add new effects to a chain every time after an effect on the chain resolves.

Yeah, sounds like this would get you a +4/+4 to your on field QuickSilver, and that's not bad at all.

+12/+12 if you had lost city in play.

Yeah, but that's a 6 card combo though:

1 Quicksilver in play
2 Quicksilvers in hand
1 other BH character in hand
Avalon
Lost City

Nice if it comes off, but not something you want to be relying on.

*shrug* I get the lost city / Avalone combo off almost every game, not always with a quad pump, but even at a double, +6/+6 is hard to deal with.

Now this has only happened once in a ton of games, but I had two Avalons and was able to get 6 pumps off ;-) no one expects a +18/+18 boost ;-)

I use Avalon + Lost City to regularly get a +6/+6 boost.

Who needs Savage Beatdown with that kind of juice?
