Any chance of getting Netreps to type out an "advanced" FAQ, to bring to PCQs?
After all of the mishaps I've been reading about at various non-UDE PCQs, I'm a bit nervous about this weekend's PCQ here in San Francisco. Especially since until now I haven't heard of any organization around here, meaning the likelyhood of getting GOOD, experienced judges is slim. If at all possible, I'd like to bring a list of more difficult questions that have been brought up, just in case there's a bonehead judge making bad calls. Any chance of getting a list?
There's a compiled list of rulings that someone else made, that are quotes from myself, Locke and Alex.
Will a netrep compile all of that?
No. The CR is coming much sooner than later.
With regards to the rest of your post:
Most of the judges that HJ PCQs have spent a lot of time learning the rules and are as such very solid. There can and will be a few mistakes, they happen, and they are less frequent as time goes on.
since this game is new, i hope that the players and the judges are more concerned with working together to bring about an overall good experience for the day.
the first time is always the most interesting, but gets easier as the day (and time) goes on).
just remember that the judges are giving up a chance to play for the big $$$, by overseeing your event. cut them a little slack, don't be disruptive, and if you have a problem with a HJ ruling, don't be afraid to ask them to check the FAQ. the worst they can say is that they already did and that is the ruling, but i'm sure that if there is any doubt, they will be more than happy to verify the ruling.
we will all be making our own mistakes on the floor, but we want the event to be as good as it can be.
I myself will be judging my first PCQ in a week or so. I have been trying to get as much info on the game as I can. However I am sure someone will come up with something I havent seen or heard of yet when playing. If we can discuss it rationally and listen to each other as to why and how we think things will resolve it will be fine. If we cant, then there will be some upset people. But everyone needs to remember we all make mistakes...we just need to learn from them.
