Man alive!

I was perusing through the trade forums today and noticed how bad of traders people are.

It has been quite awhile since I needed to trade on here and boy am I glad.

I have seen many good/fair offers turned down only to make someone really desperate. Then offer a completely crazy trade.

Unless you are trying to trade to complete sets, or you find the ocassional good person in there you are going to get hammered for the big cards.

Man is that bad!

I can understand not needing anything, but there is a line to be drawn as well on being a good community member. It is not bad to get a favorable trade. It is bad however to expect a person to pay through the nose for hard to get cards.

Shame on you guys! You all know who you are.

It works both ways though... Don't offer insane trades for that one rare you need and people will stop expecting them. As long is there is someone willing to pay the price they're asking, people will keep asking for the highest price. That's just basic economic forces at work, and there is nothing anyone can do about it.

Personally, I wouldn't be trading anything until DC has become fully available, unless there was a card I immediately needed for a tournament deck.

I have found that if you make good, fair offers to a bunch of people you get what you need for a fair price. Now everyone has different values on what they think cards are worth, so that is why you don't expect every fair offer to be accepted, you lucky if half of the fair trades you offer are accepted. Just keep offering and you will get the cards you need at a good rate, that being said it is pretty hard to get a fair trade for a chase rare, these seem to have more trade value than actual value, so don't be too upset if you have to give more for them than there worth is stated, because in online trading they are worth more.

I guess I was just feeling sympathy pains for those who are really wanting to get ahold of the power.

I just feel a little discouraged that people are laughing at offers of 3-4 solid cards(Kaboom, Clobberin, Heavy Hitter, Flare, Boris) for a Beatdown.

If you are making these offers to someone you are getting taken. To make it even worse you are making it harder for everyone else to get these cards you are trading so crazily for.

Please use your head when you are trading. It will only make it worse for you later if you make one crazy trade the next guy will be looking for the same trade later.

Well, so far I have pended 3 trades including a trade where I give my Feral Rage and I did not try and take people for more than they are worth. I am putting an X-Men deck together and I really have no problem trading Brotherhood/Doom/FF/etc rares for the ones I'm looking for.

The way I see it is, what damn good it is it for me to keep one Feral Rage when I will never get 4 of them and I will most likely never make a Brotherhood deck of any kind? It's not like there are people around here that play that I could trade with or sell em to or anything. Might as well get the cards I need out of it even if I don't get the absolute most for it.
