Can you evade will of the wisp repeatedly at the start of the recovery phase to make him as big as you like as long as you have enough endurance to pay? Thanks.
Nope. According to the text of evasion, recovery happens at the start of the recovery phase... therefore, it may be possible to evade him again at the start of the recovery phase and then have him recover at the start of the recovery phase, and then evade him again.... so on so forth. Can I get a judge's ruling on this?
There is no ruling that is needed on this, you just need to follow the rules laid out in the comp rules.
707.6 “Evasion” is a keyword that represents a payment power on a character. The payment power has the text, "Stun this character >>> At the start of the recovery phase this turn, recover this character." Stunning a character in this way will result in its controller simultaneously losing endurance equal to its recruit cost. (See rule 702.1a.)
Evasion sets up a delayed triggered modifier that triggers at the beginning of the recovery phase. Once you first enter the reocvery phase, this will trigger and put an effect on the chain that will recover the character.
If you use evasion again, it will set up another modifier, but unless you somehow enter into the recovery phase again this turn, it will not tirgger. You can choose to recover that character during the wrap-up, but if you use his power during the recovery phase, there is no chance for it to trigger before the end of hte turn.
Alright. Thanks guys. Btw, I'll be posting another similar question with regards to Unmasked this time on another thread. I hope you guys can answer it too in the same precise and clear manner. Thanks again!
