Hey, just starting out. moved over from magic for a look and like what i see:)
anyway
with evasion would u use this ability to make the oponnents attacker exhausted(tapped?) and leave it no legal target to attack to nothing happens ? trying my best to get this out with the new workings et al. As in magic if you attack a person and they block then the defender removes his blocker from combat ( so in this case evading?) then the attacker deals no damage to the blocker who is not there or the player as the attacker is still considered blocked. this nullifying any trample that may have happened aswell. As all these vs characters have trample.???
so does the same thing happen with move on that rocket guy he is not legal so the other stuff i asked happens the same?
thanks heaps.

edit** oh yeah i did try reading everything i could but couldnt quite find the answer. sorry if it is there. also even after 2 years of magic i have trouble with comprehensive rules. :noid:
if the defender is removed from the attack before the attack is concluded, the attack resolves with nothing happening and the attacker readies (untaps). So by evading, you would ready the attacker.
ok so then the attacker can attack again that step? so where is the point of evading if it doesnt stop the attackers effectiveness? i think i understand that the unstun at start of recovery means that it doesnt count as one of the ko charaters u have to lose?
it sounds dumb, but its good as u get board advantage, think about it a silver surfer wit a beatdown attlac rocket racer, just use evasion, u lose 1, surfer readys, but has not beatdown and u didn't lose bte

thanks for quick reply!
yep, you got it. Evasion is useful for "herding" an opponent to attack a specific character and leave your little guys alone. It can also waste attack pumps (though a good player wont use something like that when he knows you can evade). It can also ensure you will maintain board presence, at the cost of some endurance, since you will be able to recover all your evaded guys for free. And with Spider-Friends, some characters get bonuses for having evasion, like Ricochet.
i get board advantage as a good thing. but can u please gimme the silver surfer card name so i can see it to work out exactly what u mean? is beatdown a keyword?
he's just referring to making your opponent waste a combat pump, like Savage Beatdown. Since most attack boosts only last for that attack, when they use one and you evade, the boost is essentially wasted.
lol what a clown i am. i have that silver surfer card. only bought starter and 2 boosters so far to try it thought may be anotehr version of him. didnt realise beatdown was the name of a plot twist. but making them waste plot twists is all good

yes enjoying the game thanks. have thousands of magic cards sitting on shelf. wonder if they are worried i am here. so by herding i am losing small amounts due to the stun of my small evasion characters making them go for my bigger/one i want them to attack guy. i get it thanks :)
I get evasion now pretty much thanks guys.
can either of you please help me with the move bit too? does that affect combat in the same way. they just ready the attacker again. or would you only use the move so you could reinforce a guy or something?
about moving Rocket Racer: In general, you move him around in the support row to reinforce your front row guys. But if an attack has been declared on him, you CAN move him out of harm's way (like behind a front row character) and the attack will not happen. But remember, you can only stop the attack if it's in the declaration stage: Once the attacker exhausts their guy to attack, you cannot stop it, no matter what you do.
furiuzmnky, there are a number of reasons why you would want to evade:
1. You can evade to save characters from getting stunned naturally, and then they will recover.
2. You can evade in response to a non-attack stun effect (Such as Overload, Terra, Roy Harper, etc. (These are all cards, look them up on this site on the card list, the button is at the top)).
3. You can evade if you need stunned characters to fuel your own plot twists (Tragic Loss, Last Stand, etc.).
4. Some effects in the game trigger based on recovery, so evading helps those effects trigger (Will O' the Wisp, Siege Perilous).
5. If you go to attack a character, and after your opponent adds some effects it turns out you wont be stunning him, but he will stun you in return, you can always evade so you will recover later.
6. If you are using Ricochet (a spider-friends character) evasion is a great mechanic for your characters to have.
When not to evade:
If you know your opponent has some kind of KOing cards (Finishing Move, Death in the Family, Sadistic Choice, Inside Job, etc.) evading can be very risky.
Hey guys. thanks heaps all my questions have been answered exellently.
Big thanks
