I was playing a friend the other day and he was running 7 and 8 drop mags in his CS deck and thought that he could play 8 drop magneto by replacing 7 drop because it says "you must have a brotherhood char to play 8 drop" and i said "well you dont" and he thought he did because it was 7 drop magneto and I thought that was replacing.....can someone please explain on here so he can see it as well??

Yes, he can recruit 8-drop Mags because the 7-drop Mags will fulfill the loyalty requirement.

When you recruit a unique character, the same name character in-play will be put into the KO'd pile only when the recruitment resolves off the chain.

So in this case, he announces the recruitment of 8-drop Mag. It checks to see if there is a Brotherhood character in-play, and 7-drop Magneto is a Brotherhood character. The requirement is fulfilled. The recruitment effect of 8-drop Mag is put on the chain.

Upon the resolution of that recruitment effect, 7-drop Mag is put into the KO'd pile.
