Scenario1 . I have sinestro 6 drop. and 4 random other GL characters. Opponent is playing TT. it is his initiatifve.
He teams attacks a character protecting sinestro with everything he has, plays TTG, works his marvels with Roy harper to take out it out.
Qn 1: Does Roy harper stun because of sinestro's ability, since the character protecting sinestro is legally a defender, and Roy harper does cause the stun, (assuming that Roy harper was declared as part of the attackers)
Part 2
After my character is stuned by Roy harper. when the game state checks for legal attackers and defenders, I play lanterns in love to recover it. Does his team attackers get to ready, since I now still have a valid defender? My guess is not. But can I even play Lanterns in Love in response to this check?
Q1: Roy would stun if he was one of the team attackers.
Q2:I believe that after the char was stunned and before the check for valid defender if you had two GL chars to exhaust for GLs in Love you would be able to recover the 4 drop and he would still be a defender.
I am not sure about Q2 and would like confirmation from other judges.
No, if the titans player is playing correctly and NOT team attacking with Roy, then roy will not stun, however, if roy IS attacking, hes toast, just like the rest of them. Sinestro reads "Whenever an attacker stuns a defender you control other than sinestro, stun that attacker".
about Q2: A stunned character loses the defender characteristic so even if you recover him he won't be a defender in this attack and the Titans would ready. same thing about stunning an attacker (e.g. savage/overload) and then recovering him
In regardes to question 2 simple answer they will ready as a stunned charter losses the defender chartieristic once stunned. so the attackers will ready. i am not familiar with sinestro nor have i seen his text to be able to tell you weather roy will be stunned.
Can someone pull up where in the rules where it would say Roy Harper stuns? I was under the assumption that the character would be considered to be stunned by an effect (which is seperate from its source), not by Roy Harper. I thought that a character can only stun another character during an attack resolution.
For Q2, once a character who is an attacker or defender becomes stunned, it loses that characteristic. Furthermore, it does NOT regain that characteristic even if it recovers during attack substep.
Playing Lanterns in Love doesn't re-add the defender into the attack, so the attackers will ready on resolution of that given attack. However, since the attackers presumedly don't have flight, recovering the protecting character means that they will have to attack into it again, possibly having to stun another character or KO another resource before getting to Sinestro.

The origin of the effect is still remembered, as is required for rule number 702.4:
"An object has stunned a character if the object was the source of a modifier that stunned the character. No rule prevents a character from stunning itself."
So, if Roy Harper is in the team attack and uses his ability to stun the defender, then he counts as an attacker that stunned that defender.
Going against the grain here but I believe that attackers only ready on attack resolution if there is no defender.
If the defender is stunned and then recovered inside the same attack step then at the end of it the defender would still be a defender - does not lose the characteristic as it is not stunned.
When a defender is stunned, he loses the defender characteristic, per 602.3
Recovering the character neither gives him the defender characteristic nor inserts him back into the attack. It is impossible for a stunned character to be a defender, and so even if you recover him, you did not "recover a defender."
