the starter deck of FF has different text than the one in the MO

which one of the flying kick's text takes precedence?

The OCR's does.

As of the 2nd of June 2005. IE the OCR has been updated since the starters were released.

A judge told me yesterday that several cards were errated to prevent Nasty Surprise/Overload like combos. He said Nasty Surprise, Flying Kick, Savage Beats, Tag Team, etc. have all been erratted to only alow you target characters you control.

Is this true or was the judge mistaken by reading the FF card text?

The judge is mistaken, the only card with altered text (in referance to your Overload situations) is Flying Kick, and that will only happen once an offical errata is done.

Whats the difference in the text?

The new Flying Kick incorrectly says "Target character you control..."

I WISH all of those cards would be altered to only affect your own characters. <sigh> Am I the only one who'd like to play the game with common sense instead of rules lawyer sense?

Without rules, I'd argue common sense that Superman couldn't be hurt by anyone unless Kryptonite was played on them.

Rules are required for a game. By the rules, you can target anything unless the card says otherwise.
