I was just curious as to everyone response to these two questions.
1. There's a player tha uses a Dark Gods deck and whenever he activates the Source, he looks through your deck and hand. BUT I think he's kind of abusing it because he wont just look for the cards he used the Source on, he'll look at almost every card and read what they do. To me that is kind of unfair. Now I agree he has the right to look for the card but shouldnt it be just the card name only and not what your other cards do?
2. Say some attacks one of my Green Lanterns while I have the 6 drop Sinstro out. According to Sinestro's text that Revenge squad would become stunned also, if it's stuns the Green Lantern character. The Revenge Squad players then activates a location (I'm sorry I didnt catch the of the location, I think it was 5th dimension or something) and according to the card text, "Remove a unstunned Revenge Squad Character, at the beginning of the recovery phase return that Revenge Squad character to the game."
Can he do that? Because once the attack resolves wouldnt the Revenge Squad character become stunned because of Sinestro? The Judge ruled otherwise but I would like others opinions. Thanks!!
1. If the opponent is delaying the game, then that's an issue for the on-hand Judge to deal with. But he is allowed to search through your hand and deck, so I wouldn't say he's broken any rules by reading cards he doesn't recognize. It's not the direct intent of the card, but I don't know of any rule stopping him.
2. The other player was correct. Sinestro has what is called a triggered effect, and it's important to know that triggered effects work like every other effect---they have to go onto the chain, and then resolve off of it. I think that a lot of players assume these triggered effects happen immediately whenever their triggers do, but they don't occur with the trigger. The trigger merely starts them rolling.
Once your opponent's attacker has stunned your defender, Sinestro's ability has been triggered. Once the attack has concluded, Sinestro's effect will then be added to the chain; both you and your opponent have a chance to play effects before it resolves. Removing the character from the game with 5th Dimension at this point stops him from being stunned.
while your opponent is lookong though your deck via the source, he can read the cards. but if it were a tourny you could proboly call a judge for slow play on his part. The source is a really good card
