So I'm playing GK against T-Bolt Tactics, & I was curious as to what the "technically best" play was regarding stopping the combo, or at least mitigating as much damage as possible.
While I have 1 or two Fizzles, at which point do I Fizzle?
It would occur to me that Fizzling the Deadly Consps would be smart, as they make it impossible to *use* team tactics, but at the same time, Fizzing the TT makes sense too b/c that's where the damage jumps to such high levels in the first place :ermm:
Fizzling the Deadly is almost always better as you stop them from drawing a card and if thier running Charteris they won't be able to use it for the attack.
The answer depends on your field. If you can reinforce / evade / stun the defender, Fizzle the Team Tactics. They might draw a card, but you can potentially cancel the attack and force a wasted use of the combo anyway. In fact, in general, you'd rather force out the Tactics since they're the more valuable of the two resouces; Melissa Gold can supplement a draw with a TT and no DC, but you just can't compensate for the loss of a Tactics easily.
As an aside, did Alex's new creation scare you that bad? ;)
Definately the Team Tactics. THis came up while I was playing Kang. (Sure, I also had Spheres of Solitude to 'Fizzle' the Tactics... this is why learning the hard way didn't cost me the game. :) )
The thing is, drawing out their Team Tactics is immeasurably useful, because it means they need a new copy of both, rather than just the conspiracy; this is relevant with MMW, and also with just rawdogging it with draws.
Jumping the gun is bad. Them having tactics in hand is much worse than them not. Conspiracy just doesn't do that much.

No. Blindsided on it's own is bad. I've often seen him with three copies just sitting there in his hand and resource row. He might be able to overpower you with lot's of Blindsided's.
damn you beat me to the punch... the answer is you better be packing your own ntz if you want a chance at winning this matchup. also dw win-lose deal asap. negate anything that can draw them cards.

And alex used my build at gencon UK.
Well, for one thing, Kang has 'I can't believe it's not Fizzle!', and for another, sometimes they won't have NTZ (the more pieces they have to find, the less likely their combo will work).
He asked how to make Fizzle as effective as possible against the combo - it not always working doesn't change that it's the best approach to use if you can.
3 tbolts decks have top 20d the last 2 10k's. Win lose deal is a key component to all those decks. It's exhaust cost is irrelevant and since its a speed combo deck any cards you get to are better than anything in the opponents deck (other than their own ntz). Without WLD, the deck has no shot at a major event and anyone with half a brain that has tested the deck 5 or more times can see that.
My bad, I've heard it was doing ok, but since it chokes to so many decks I haven't bothered to test it with WLD. I play it for fun and plan to go off on 5 w/o WLD. As for half a brain comment, there's no need to be an ass. Obviously you guys have played it more as it is your pet deck...I've been over in the other thread discussing the consistent deck (that would be Reservists).
