After 7 rounds, there are only two players who have an unblemished record. First there is Aaron Weil, playing the new hotness that is Avengers Reservist. The other is none other than FTN’s own Michael Dalton, playing the team’s version of Common Enemy. The FTN guys seemed to have been ahead of the metagame once again, tuning their version to be competitive against the Squadron Supreme decks that are everywhere. This deck has gotten new recruit Dave Spears to 6-1. In fact, Common Enemy has been able to take five players to a 6-1 or better record, with FTN leading the charge with both second and third place. Squadron has only been able to manage three players with one loss or less.
Here are the decks that have one or zero losses as of round 7:
7-0
Aaron Weil - Avengers Reservist
Michael Dalton - Common Enemy
6-1
David Spears - Common Enemy
Alex Gellerman - Squadron Supreme
Roy St. Clair - Cosmic Cops
John Tatta - Squadron Supreme
Dean Sohnle - Fantastic Fun
Josh Wiitanen - Teen Titans
Billy Postlethwait - “Blazing Saddles” (Radiation Burn Deck with Roy and Dr. Light)
Sean Poestkoke - Common Enemy
Doug Tice - Squadron Supreme
Philip Graham - Common Enemy
Neil Reeves - Common Enemy
Alex Brown - Faces of Evil
David Frayer - “Fantastic Tactics” (Team Tactics/A Child Named Valeria)
Matt Oldaker - Child Lock
Markus Kolb - Squadron Supreme
Jason Nelson - Teen Titans
One thing that is clear is that the reign of the purple robots is well and truly over. Even though it’s the second most played deck, Sentinels has underperformed dramatically. That has made for a very happy Tim Willoughby, who predicted the fall of Curve Sentinels and the rise of Doom just a week before.
OK can any CS players tell me where they are ?
BTW,,

He’s this event’s “guy you’ve never heard of who can totally kick your butt.” He was running Avengers reservist.
Common enemy is making a comeback because CS isnt that good anymore... Or so they thought,Half the top 20 dies to trap anarchy, the other half dies to bastion, so its gonna be a while for you guys to see CS go away. (BTW, the only deck in the top 20 that has a good matchup against CS is avengers, I suppose the squadron decks made it cuz most players don't run trap anarcht nowadays)
Originally posted by Mr. Holmes yea... thats why its 10-0.. its too late for sarcams.. but i couldnt resist :)
BTW.. Hawkeye helps alot vs decks like NS....
Hawkeye is far from being the end of the game. You're always going to have to stun Shimmer on my nish, and if you go for attacks on yours I can reinforce and stall up the board in between RoT and MP. The moment I hit turn 6 and can use six drop Spidey,
Maybe it's just me, but whenever I play against an Avengers deck, it feels like they put a very small amount of pressure on you, especially with their lack of Fllight and Range. You have plenty of time to go off.
If he is referring to Hawkeye's ability to stun two characters then he's also off, everyone can run away in response bar an exhausted Alfred and sometimes a Micro-Chip, but you obviously wouldn't put yourself in a position where you lose a guy unless the KO Micro-Chip >>> Exhaust target 4-drop exchange is worth it.
Similarly you never set yourself up for a Shimmer reliant turn if you know she will be stunned by Hawkeye. Of course, once Doom gets a Power Compressor Hawkeye can't do anything.
I agree with you, I found Avengers to be incredibly easy, especially if they're running fewer copies of Hercules and no way to search him out. Apart from their inferior Terra and one shot Wonderman they can't touch you.
